About this deal
There’s hardly a better time for TEN’s citric sizzle and garden-fresh flavors than spring and summer. It’s there centre stage in all the ‘classic’ gins – Tanqueray, Gordons, Beefeater, No3, Portobello Road, Haymans, to name but a few – but it’s not the only flavour.

It’s enjoyable on its own but also shaken with other ingredients, as the bottle shape suggests, and fashioned into any number of fantastic cocktails.Whole citrus fruits, including limes, oranges and pink grapefruit are then added with chamomile flowers to Tiny Ten, the still from which the liquid gets its name. The structure that’s created between the spice and the spirit is unparalleled in the gin space, with flavor that is nothing short of perfection. The visually appealing bottle with screw cap quickly attracts attention with its distinctive green colour. The difference between Tanqueray London Dry Gin and Tanqueray 10 is like the difference between a wrench and pliers – they both can perform similar tasks, but they are ultimately different tools.

TEN would go on to help carry the flame of the modern mixed drink movement, not only bringing gin back to the foreground, but affording it a nimbleness that would allow it to defy its oft-typecast role behind the bar. While it does not command a sizable market share in its native market, its largest market is the United States. It’s a fitting package design detail that this gin comes in a lime green bottle reminiscent of a cocktail shaker.
There is a misconception that Tanqueray 10 gets its name from the number of botanicals in the mix; in fact, the recipe for Tanqueray 10 has all four of the base botanicals from Tanqueray London Dry: juniper, coriander, angelica, and licorice. Charles Tanqueray created the world's finest London Dry Gin in 1830 and it is made today to the same classic, timeless recipe. While Tanqueray London Dry Gin is our go-to gin for a gin and tonic or Negroni, Tanqueray 10 works much better in cocktails like the Aviation, the Southside, and the Gin Rickey. Twenty years later, it endures as a staple behind the bar for its versatility in cocktails and it’s balanced, relatively classic juniper-led palate.
