About this deal

Lara's sisters were something I anticipated when I read the synopsis of this book, and I'm so glad they didn't disappoint. It was wonderful seeing how they all worked together despite Lara leaving them behind. The satisfaction of their coup was worth the setup of adding them in. All that however changes when someone starts spreading spiteful rumors about her, forcing the High Lord Akkarin to intervene. Being more than a 2 book series, and after the cliffy ending of The Bridge Kingdom, I was a little worried I was going to be left waiting months in anticipation for book 3, but was pleasantly surprised that The Traitor Queen had a satisfactory ending (no nail biting cliffhanger). I am definitely looking forward to the continuation of the series (the direction the series is going for book 3 is provided at the end of The Traitor Queen). Willful Thalamika does learn that good looks aren't everything and can cause one to be misled. The description of the Bull Games is all but riveting. The politics, religious culture, and rising conflict make for a great story and an effortless way to absorb an ancient culture. The book is well-worth seeking out for females ages 12 and up. (Note: The author spent time on Crete as part of her research for the book.) Aren finding Lara trying to stitch herself up after she is injured in the fight, and him helping her. Then the sex.

Richly-woven, evocative, and absolutely impossible to put down - I was hooked from the first lines! Dark Shores has everything I look for in a fantasy novel: fresh, unique settings, a cast of complex and diverse characters, and an unflinching boldness with the nuanced world-building. I loved every word Sarah J. Maas I didn't expect to love this book even more than the first, as I enjoyed The Bridge Kingdom a great deal. However, I really enjoyed this sequel far more than I anticipated. There is only one Queen of Ithicana. Just as there is only one King. And if any of our enemies dare come for our kingdom, we will bring them to their knees."

Lara has watched Ithicana be conquered by her own father. But when she learns her husband, Aren, has been captured in battle, Lara knows her father is only keeping him alive to lure in his traitorous daughter.Lastly, I have to take a moment to discuss Jensen’s writing style. It is engaging, descriptive, and easy to follow. Her use of a dual point of view enhances the book’s overall enjoyability, as it not only provides insight into the two lead characters but also helps to move the story along. She knows how to write and spin a captivating tale. The not so good Now an apprentice of Lord Dakon, Tessia is presented with a life of endless opportunities beyond her wildest imagination.
