About this deal

I’m so utterly disappointed because this book sounded so interesting…and it didn’t deliver any of that. One of which is to move in across the hall from him so he can keep me safe. Like I need protection after a little felony mix-up. I’m serious when I say I need to trust that you’re going to put me before everyone and everything like I’m going to do for you. My business will come after you. I will be there for you. I’ll shield you from brightening everyone’s day when you’re having a shitty one. Do you know what it’s like to have your body taken hostage and controlled by someone you thought would never hurt you? To give that trust and then they proceed to do their worst with it?” 😢

Jay and Aubrey are friends and have been for a long time. Aubrey’s mom is Native American and her dad beats his wife and daughter behind closed doors. I realized she didn’t belong to me, I belonged to her… she held my sanity, my control, my power, my heart in her hands. She owned me.” They both fight it for their own reasons though. And let me tell ya I’ve never been so mad/heartbroken before about a third act… that’s all I’m gonna say about that. 😅

If you feel the same go read a different series (they're all slightly intertwined) and give her a chance. I love a possessive man in a book, but not to the point where all I’m thinking about is “can this man just shut up for one second and let her do her job of training a man” or whatever the hell her job was. We were kids in love and I left. She’s moved on. So have I.. what’s the problem?” -I paraphrased this one Remember how I mentioned Aubrey’s mom is Native American and never used that piece of information again? Yeah that’s what the book did as well. Felt a little bait-Ty. This book has a couple of trigger warnings including missing native women, domestic abuse and some violence, I didn't feel like any of it was too over the top as mentioned before I do think she handles it in a very well written sense with also going the reader feeling better by the end of those scenes.

This book will have your emotions all over the place and I found myself really rooting for them both. These characters have been through so much together and you could really feel for them as if they were real. It does not matter that she may have to sleep with the man a lot to get him to loosen up. Soon enough the brash and overly practical billionaire realizes that he can also be thoughtful and caring and before long he is the one spoiling her. Nothing to make you think this would last till morning. Honestly, why did you even stay the night?"

Aubrey Whitfield, or Brey as her friends call her, has grown up in a abusive house. Her father expect her and her mother to make sure the world saw nothing but a perfect family. So in front of her father Aubrey is nothing less than perfect. Corrupted Chaos: steamy sexual scenes, violence, drinking, drug abuse, suicide, and struggles with addiction

And Evie "dating" another man while married to Declan, even though she says several times how she feels nothing for this other man, made me not care very much for her character. She's afraid of trusting and getting hurt, well then date no one while being in a fake marriage. One misstep, one kiss had upended everything. They have been colleagues, the assistant, and the actor, and best friends and one kiss should not have the power to change everything.they would hook up and the next minute everly was throwing her boyfriend in declan’s face and telling him to go out with her sister. it got old real fast. declan wanted everly outside of the fake marriage but did nothing when ow would hang all over him and try to get between them like are you sure you’re 34??? now i love a marriage of convenience trope but this was not it 😩😩 they’re married and having sex yet there’s still SO MUCH op drama. everly is “dating” om and every guy that looks at her wants her. declan is friends with his ex/she’s their pr person and everlys stepsister wants declan. it was GROSS and annoying. Aubrey 'Brey ' has a horrible father who treated her and her mother terribly. After a complete tragedy when the house is on fire Jax makes a decision there and then to save Audrey. I really went through waves with this book. One second I’d love it, couldn’t put it down. The next I’m rolling my eyes trying to convince myself that it’s ok to DNF a book. But I’m stubborn and finished it anyway. Inevitable: Mentions of sexual assault, drinking, family domestic abuse, MMIW, steamy sexual scenes

A Second chance love story. This author writes fantastically and really brings this story to life. I honestly can't wait to read the next books this author writesHer twin sister was hooked on drugs and was currently in juvie at the time she left, leaving behind a much calmer atmosphere. There’s only one woman you’re going to have to see around the family for the rest of your life attached to me and that’s my wife,” Flash forward five years Brey is finishing up college and has made her own little family of friends, and Jax works for the Stonewoods enterprise and has also released a music album. Jay has remained Brey’s best friend though now he’s a big Hollywood star. Victory Blakely dragged the sun out of hiding the very next week when she showed up at work with her crew.
