About this deal

MORE THAN ONE CORRECT ANSWER: If the Dasher receives more than one answer that closely resembles the correct answer, the round is cancelled.

He IMMEDIATELY awards the relevant player TWO points which the player moves BEFORE the other answers are read out. If after moving the playing piece lands on a Spinner Segment, he spins the spinner and moves the number of spaces indicated. (See CENTRAL SPINNER above). The player then sits out the rest of that turn. A shy hairdresser gets mixed up with a middle aged socialite, a pregnant rich girl and a single mother.

WINNING THE GAME

In its day, Absolute Balderdash was mightily popular with those who like to create a bit of a hectic, party atmosphere around board game nights. If that strikes a chord, then you’ll probably like: The game begins by all players rolling a die, with the high roll chosen to be the first "dasher". The dasher draws a "definition card" from the supplied box, and rolls the dice to decide which of the words listed there is to be used. Then the dasher writes the definition of the word (as supplied on the card) on a piece of paper. All other players then write down a definition, which may be an honest attempt to supply the correct definition, or, if they do not know or for tactical reasons decide not to, a fictitious definition for the word designed to sound convincing. For other uses, see Balderdash (disambiguation) and Boulder Dash (disambiguation). Balderdash Designers THREE / FOUR PLAYER OPTION: When playing with four people or less, one variation of the game is to have the Dasher submit a bluff answer in addition to the real answer. This gives the Dasher a chance to bluff and score more, as well as creating more answers to choose from.

After everyone has moved their playing piece and spun the spinner if necessary the player to the Dasher's left becomes the new Dasher. He takes the next card in the box. The Category to be read is determined by which segment the leading player's (or players') playing piece is sitting on at the start of this new turn.

Object of the Game

The idea of the game is not to actually try to guess the real answer but to to submit one to me that tries to convince other people that your's is the correct answer! A television game show based on the game aired on PAX (later i; the network is now Ion Television) with comedian Elayne Boosler as host. ONE CORRECT ANSWER: If the Dasher receives a player's answer that closely resembles the correct answer he must put it aside and not read it out during the turn. Answer: "Poochinski". A dead cop reincarnated as a police dog? Sponsors, especially Alpo and Kibbles And Bits probably liked it, but no one else did much

If the leading piece is on a ? segment, the Dasher can choose which of the 5 categories will be used that turn. Balderdash is based on an earlier game, Fictionary, of essentially similar gameplay, varying in that obscure words are found in an unabridged dictionary instead of the definitions and meanings provided on cards. They are then read out to the unsuspecting individual. Answer: It was based on the notion that Dorothy Gale (she from, of course, "The Wizard Of Oz") might have been a real girl Board Game, Children's Game, Skill & Action Game, Dice Game, Family Game, Party Game, Educational Game, Gambling Game, Memory GameMoving left from the Dasher, each player in turn decides which answer is the real one. As each player chooses an answer the Dasher writes this player's initials in the score segment on the corresponding Bluffing Sheet. After each player has guessed, the Dasher reveals the right answer and awards points as follows: SCORING
