About this deal

Having tried quite a few different copy makes of the Makita battery . I have come to the conclusion the Makita battery are much better performance wise. Charge times: 14.4/18V 3.0Ah battery in 22 mins 18V 4.0Ah battery in 36 mins 18V 5.0Ah battery in 45 mins A. Makita warns that non-genuine batteries could perform poorly, catch fire, damage the charger, and so on. Their use will certainly void the tool warranty. Any of these things might be true, but let’s not forget that Makita has a vested interested in selling you its own battery! The new Makita 4.0Ah battery with a 60 minute fast charge time with a DC10SB charger or 130 minute standard charge time with a DC10WD charger.

Where uninterrupted run time is critical, such as on remote construction locations or where charging capacity is distant and would mean valuable time lost away from the operating point, extended run time is all important. The Makita BL1850B 5.0Ah 18v Li-ion battery provides 66% more run time than that of the 3.0Ah battery whilst maintaining the same size and weight so maintaining the excellent balance and comfort of a Makita tool in use. Makita's old 18V batteries and tools with the yellow connector are a discontinued line of products that were replaced by the newer, more powerful LXT line of tools and batteries. The yellow connector batteries are still compatible with some older Makita tools, but they are not as efficient or powerful as the LXT batteries. Recharge time for the BL1850B 5.0Ah battery is just 45 minutes when using a Makita DC18RC or DC18RA fast charger. This compares with 22 minutes for the popular 3.0Ah 18v Makita Li-ion battery or 36 minutes for the 4.0Ah Li-ion battery. The battery capacity indicator LED's which show you how much power you have left at the touch of a button. In practical terms, a 3.0 Ah battery delivers the same performance as a 2.0 Ah battery in terms of outright power — voltage output — but it will continue to deliver that power for longer. It’s like having three gallons of gas in the tank instead of two.Compatible only with Star Protection tools, indicated by the Star Symbol™ and/or Yellow Battery Receiver under the tool Makita 18V Lithium-Ion is the world's largest cordless tool line-up powered by an 18V Lithium-Ion slide-style battery Keep the batteries at around 60°F. Extreme cold will drain your rechargeable batteries. Never leave batteries in a vehicle or shed where they might freeze because this can cause permanent damage. NiCad batteries are more tolerant than NiMH, and while early Li-ion were susceptible, Makita’s LXT batteries handle the cold surprisingly well. Recharge batteries based on the type. There’s some confusion about whether you should let batteries run all the way down before recharging. It depends on the type. NiCad batteries have what’s called a “memory effect.” For example, if they’re still one-quarter charged when you recharge them, they “remember” that, and only provide a three-quarter charge. This effect gets worse each time, so they need to be “deep discharged” (run as flat as possible) before recharging. NiMH and Li-ion batteries don’t have the same problem, so you can recharge them whenever convenient, as soon as your tool isn’t working at peak performance.

Makita technology delivers category-leading charge time so the battery spends more time working and less time sitting on the charger (charger not included) These batteries were discontinued in 2012 when Makita introduced the LXT line. The LXT batteries are based on Li-ion technology, which is more efficient and more powerful than NiCd technology. They are also smaller and lighter than the yellow connector batteries. Don’t store drained batteries. If you’re storing batteries for any length of time, don’t leave them with no charge because they may not “wake up” when you want to charge them again. Experts recommend charging to about 50%. Makita’s LXT batteries, for example, are supplied with 30% charge, which is “for storage purposes only.”The new Makita 2.0Ah battery with a 30 minute fast charge time with a DC10SB charger or 70 minute standard charge time with a DC10WD charger. Makita BL1850B 18v 5Ah Li-ion battery is compatible with 18v tools if they have a star on the connector plate or has a yellow connector plate The 18V LXT® 5.0Ah battery is compatible only with Star Protection tools, indicated by the Star Symbol™ and/or Yellow Battery Receiver under the tool.
