All that changes one day when, while walking through the woods, Bea meets Cad, a member of the Galdurians, an ancient race thought to be long-extinct. The Guardian defeats Calus once and for all from underneath the Veil itself using their Strand powers, but the Guardian's Ghost becomes possessed again by the Witness; the Witness then uses the primordial Light from Ghost to commune with the Veil and create the uplink.
