About this deal

A copy of this book was provided by the publisher, Katherine Tegen Books, an imprint of HarperCollins, for review. Lovelace House and its creepy, charming inhabitants felt utterly real to me, and I held my breath through every step Marin took into their darkness. Captivating setting, interesting characters and relationship between them, intense mystery that revealed itself. The way they acted made me completely forget that they were only 17 and also that the story was set in the modern day.

Battling the hazing that comes with caring for children she finds that some of the pranks are too frightening to be conjured by children and with the arrival of the eldest Lovelace, Marin uncovers more than just a few skeletons in the closet. Did I meet McCauley at age 17 and then promptly forget about that encounter while she went off and wrote an entire novel about me? All The Dead Lie Down might be something I’d recommend to a reader who had never read in the paranormal realm before but other than that, I’d say skip this one. I knew I wanted to include so many of the incredible elements and tropes that made me love this genre: creepy children, a sprawling mansion by the sea, decrepit cemeteries, a whirlwind romance, and of course, a messed-up deer. All the Dead Lie Down has this weird time paradox feeling to it where it doesn’t seem to belong to any particular point in time.Kyrie holds a Master of Science in Social Policy from the University of Pennsylvania, and has worked in advocacy and development for non-profit organizations. A deep dive to illustrate the quiet strength of those in the darkest situations, If These Wings Could Fly is atmospheric, brilliantly drawn, and ultimately hopeful. About the Author: Kyrie McCauley spent her childhood climbing trees in dresses and reading books during class.

She finds herself falling for Evie, but realizes that something is going on that she doesn't understand. McCauley does a great job describing the scenes and making the reader have a sense of overall dread in a good way. Heartbreaking, important, and layered with so much hope, this book breathes magic into every chapter. Much more fantasy oriented than I expected instead of horror but since it’s YA, I should’ve known that. She lives near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania with her family, three cats, and a dog that eats books and is never sorry. She lives near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with her family, three rescue cats, and a dog that eats books and is never sorry.
