About this deal

A "spice chypre" as a didactic play for the (they are allowed to...) sweet-powdery posterity of the scent friends. That's where Christian Mathieu, the perfumer, really put his foot down. No wonder, in the late 1970s/early 1980s there were no restrictions on fragrances and their use. Surely you know about the "Hall of Fame" concept: The place where the stories and artifacts of famous people of the past are kept, proving their real existence. Of course, two centuries have passed since the first Hall of Valhalla in Bavaria, and during this time the Halls of Fame have become one of the main marketing tools for industries and companies. It is not for nothing that every sport and every perfume award has its own Hall of Fame. And every time some young visitor asks, "Who's that?" or "Why have I never heard that name?" there should be an experienced guide who will explain. For example, not all Aventus Creed fans are aware of Canoe Dana's success. Few people remember the existence of the first winner among niche fragrances in the United States. (Remember Metropolis Estee Lauder in 1988? There's a review about it.) Today I want to review a masculine fragrance that deserves to be nominated. The opulence of woody orientals is absolutely irresistible. The two signatures are a match made in heaven as they enhance each other's aromas. When this particular product is first applied, bergamot, basil, lavender, petitgrain, rosemary, marjoram and lime hit the nose. Next heart notes of cedar, cinnamon, patchouli, sandalwood, geranium, coriander and nutmeg burst on to the scene. As the fragrance matures, a deluge of oak moss, amber, leather, vanilla and musk arises to perfect the olfactory experience. Jacomo Fragrances: Pricing

This is a well blended scent. Whatever is standing in for the oakmoss here is doing a pretty convincing job, particularly in the company of the other elements of the scent. The 1990s saw the launch of a series of "couple" perfumes for the brand. Anthracite for men and for women was launched in 1991. Paradox for Women was launched in 1998, followed by her companion Paradox for Men in 1999. (Both scents would later be named Paradox Blue, with the launch of the Paradox Green pair in 2003). The Aura pair, with corresponding green and yellow bottles followed in 2000. TLDR: Good (3.25/5). Smoke, cloves & dry flowers. So much of its time that it seems cutting edge and niche now. I definitely have something left for the so-called "old school" scents from the 80s or before. Many of these scents (unfortunately) have an overarching DNA. For example, Giorgio for Men, Bogart, One Man Show or Pour Lui by Oscar de la Renta. Of course, these fragrances don't smell the same, but they have so much in common that I often ask myself: Do I need them all in the collection? But I know for sure that I really don't need another one in this direction. Because: Patchouli is already ready to hold pleasant warmth, to deepen and enrich the overall fragrance. Warmth with a cool mossy breeze every now and then and a "built-in" scent - kaleidoscope provides even with me, which already sniffed many perfumes, for joyful surprise of the "So-noch- Nicht-Gerochenen"...In my opinion JdJ is not a fragrance for boys. After all, smell alone does not make a man out of a boy. And vice versa one does not get younger with the above mentioned John Varvatos or similar. At best and at best, fragrances underline the personality. At worst, they caricature them. Everything has its time. Also that of JdJ. Actually it is over. You can see the appreciation for this in the price. Jacomo has its origins in the late 1960s. American James Kaplan and Frenchman Gerard Courtin met in New York, on 5th Avenue. Both men had a great love for art, music and design. Pooling their common interests, they created the fashion brand “Jacomo” (taking the "Ja" from James, the "Co" from Courtin, and the "Mo" being added to give the name a musical touch) and opened a boutique where they offered their designs to the chic trendsetters of New York.

There are some scents that you can recognize... metaphorically speaking... with your eyes closed. Be it Man Pure, Tuscan Leather, Aventus, Yatagan(etc.) and this very colleague here. The middle of the progression here introduces cinnamon. There is also a geranium note, but things are so dry in this scent that the floral note is dry and brittle. The patchouli in the dry down is also nice. She was a heavy smoker, and what's more, she was playing with the ashes in the ashtray during our long talks. In principle, not much known. After the smoky hammer opening it becomes softer, but never really sweet. Neither at the beginning nor in the course in any way penetrating. Finally something extraordinary again. Great!! She was acting crazy most of the time, to the point of wondering whether she was posing a threat to herself. She had grey, troubled eyes, which were like two shards of her shattered soul, trying to escape her battered body. Jacomo's de Jacomo Men proves that not all quality fragrances are outrageously priced. It has been available in shops since 1980. Often called toilet water before modern times, eau de toilettes, such as this one, have a lower percentage of aetheroleum than parfums do, normally between 5-15%. Because they are lighter, they are a common choice for on-the-job wear. Intricate Unfolding Jacomo de Jacomo" contains everything that makes a "full" fragrance, from the "green raw fresh" spices to real clove oil to a "gallon" oakmoss and well "hung" patchouli. Brooks Otterlake's review mentions clove cigarettes. Exactly! I remember when Indonesian clove cigarettes came into style at the college I was attending. Friends smoked them. This fragrance does indeed smell remarkably like a burning clove cigarette.
