About this deal

points of ground balance resolution (like the Garrett AT Max), ranging from ferrous ground to saltwater. This could be in the form of overhead or underground power cables or a nearby mobile phone transmitter for example.

A: Ground mineralization is the amount of magnetism the soil contains due to particles having the characteristics of metals. This makes the soil naturally produce a magnetic response when using a metal detector. Old surface soil is one of the most mineralized soils. This is caused by rainwater forcing iron compounds to move to the surface. New soils created by erosion or glacial action are lower in mineralization. Noise cancellation– this is a huge advantage that will improve the user experience regardless of the frequency, search mode, or search grounds. The APEX comes with a 2 year factory warranty and thankfully Garrett has excellent customer. If there is an issue with the battery during or after 2 years Garrett will have to service the battery. This may come to some as an inconvenience to some but these batteries should provide multiple years of use before they ever need serviced. I don’t expect to see any major problems with these batteries and I wouldn’t worry about it. Is The Apex Multi-Flex Technology the same as Minelab’s Multi-IQ Technology? The detector comes with automatic and manual ground balance settings, allowing you to adjust to even highly mineralized grounds. This technology could now gather target information from the use of several frequencies simultaneously. The differences in how frequencies reacted with different targets were now harmonised.

Many Garrett fans were hoping for a new waterproof machine but they didn’t get it. The APEX is waterproof from the coil all the way up to the control interface. The control interface is only water resistant not submersible. I would not suggest standing in a rain storm and expect the Apex to weather the storm. Why Does the ACE APEX Have a Smaller 6″ x 11″ Search Coil? To update your Garrett ACE Apex, a PC computer running with Windows 7 or newer operating system is required. Which diggers segment the device was designed for? It’s not a waterproof one, but it has search modes for beach hunting. The Garrett ACE Apex comes with the multi-flex feature which means the ability to operate at several frequencies. In this case, the machine can operate on 4 different ones:

I have a more in depth article on the Minelab Vanquish range here. Once the patent that Minelab had taken out on this technology expired, other manufacturers were then free to reverse engineer it. Garrett Apex vs Vanquish 540 In the display, you can see target detection depth and a 20-segments discrimination scale. VDI values vary from 0 to 99. Values from 0 to 39 are for ferrous metals. You can change discrimination in increments of 5 (there are 20 segments at all). Below are a few videos featuring the Garrett ACE Apex to help you get some additional information on the metal detector including a fuller list of features and the device in action! Reviewing the features of the ACE Apex by Garrett Metal Detectors The internal rechargeable battery of Garrett Apex provides 15 hours of the device continuous operation, depending on the device settings and search mode. You can charge the battery using the USB cable (mini USB). Where the APEX seems to shine is with their new Multi-Flex Multi-Frequency technology that includes a Multi-Salt feature. I have not personally had the pleasure of testing the APEX on the dry and wet sand but from my research and the videos I’ve seen, I think Garrett finally got it right.
