About this deal

Jude, Callum’s brother and Callie Rose’s uncle, was even less sympathetic as a character in this one than in Knife Edge, the second in the series. You really got to see how life had turned him into someone cruel, cold and calculating. He had risen to power in the Liberation Militia, but had never truly learned to love or to find the hope bad light in life. When a stalemate occurs, the game is considered drawn and both players receive half a point (1/2-1/2) The Chess Cafe Puzzle Book. Chess Cafe is an established publisher in the Chess world. They published a few books with puzzles that are worth getting. They have four books total full of puzzles to practice with.

Discovering Chess Openings: Building Opening Skills from Basic Principles. Written by John Emms, this book focuses on the opening principles and fundamentals that every beginner to learn first when it comes to openings. Middlegame Books Yeah, my memory isn’t strong. But at the same time, there is no reason to remember the names, thats why my brain doesn’t make effort. Watch this great video lesson on Scholar's Mate if you'd like to learn more. Dutch Defense (Fool's Mate Pattern)The romance was cute and adorable. It was young love and even swoon-worthy but there wasn't much rivalry between Mallory and Nolan like the way Ali promoted it. There were some cute amd funny moments which I absolutely adored but I did not like the way Mallory treated him sometimes. The way Nolan cared for her and made sure she got the fellowship in chess was just so precious. He wanted to play chess with her and she denied him every single time and I understand her reasons but Nolan did everything he could to earn her trust. Nolan deserves so much better. Also I hated how he was more like a side character in this book than the "actual" side characters which is the worst that could happen to a mmc. a) Nolan (easily a 5 star love interest. Everything about him was perfect. I just don’t know why he was so whipped for the fmc😭. He’s not a bad boy, he’s a softie which I love🫶) Fine 1979, p.4, "Two bishops of the same color cannot administer mate; a mating position is not even conceivable. The same holds true of nine (or more!) bishops all of one color." Modern Chess Openings is a true classic in the world of chess. It was the first book I got when I decided to start learning an opening. When first playing Chess, you want to just play a couple hundred games. The next step is learning one opening until you memorize the main line, then learn another one. This is the book for doing just that.

This is an original, intelligent, perceptive and though-provoking series of books – and whilst squarely aimed at the Young Adult market, it clearly transcends the restrictive boundaries of that genre. Mallory Greenleaf would be fine with never playing chess again. She was really, really good but quit playing around 14. Now she’s 18 and supporting her family by working as a mechanic. Her best friend has her join in on a tournament and she not only wins, but beats the number one player in the world (yes, world). I loved this book, it was brilliant! The third book in the Noughts and Crosses quartet definitely lived up to the first two books and in some ways surpassed them. But the science stuff is real and the chess stuff in this one is real, and I be damned if I can't even enjoy a man losing his shit for a woman who has just insulted him in peace.

Winning Chess Combinations by Yasser Seirawan. One of many books on this list by Yasser. This book walks you through combinations in Chess. What they are, how they work, and how to do make them work in your games. but i will say this was something different from her previous work imo for those who are whining complaining Our main character is Mallory, a young woman who works in an auto-repair shop to make enough money to support her family and who frequently hooks up with men and women but is too afraid of emotional intimacy to ever let any of her partners get too close to her. She used to have a very powerful passion for chess and she was one of the best players in the world as a child, but something that happened in her past made her turn away from the sport completely, and now she’s all bitter and defensive about it. This means that it can be done, but unless your opponent decides to help you out, it cannot be done.
