About this deal

US D890696S,Kenneth Sweet; Maj Isabelle Olsson& Peter Cazaletet al.,"Earbud charging case",issued July 21, 2020, assigned to Google LLC In terms of battery life, the Google Pixel Buds A-Series offer a bit of an improvement. According to Google, you’re looking at five hours of listening time and up to two-and-a-half hours of talk time, as opposed to the three hours of listening time that we got from the Google Pixel Buds 2. We’ll still need to put them through a few recharge cycles ourselves to see how this number holds up, but it is very promising. They sound good anywhere. Adaptive Sound adjusts the volume as you move between quiet and noisy environments, so you don't have to.

The compact case has an LED showing the charge of the earbuds and itself charges via USB-C. Photograph: Samuel Gibbs/The Guardian Pros: small, stable, open fit with eartip, good sound, good case, solid battery life, good gestures, Fast Pair, Google Assistant, USB-C, AAC. The Pixel Buds A-Series offer everything that was good about Google’s previous earbuds for just over half the price. Estes, Adam Clark. "Google's Pixel Buds Aren't Even Close to Being Good". Gizmodo . Retrieved November 17, 2017.Machkovech, Sam (May 25, 2020). "Pixel Buds 2 review: These earbuds are 'much better than OK,' Google". Ars Technica . Retrieved December 12, 2022. The Pixel Buds A-Series LED light will indicate status of the earbuds or case depending on if it’s opened or closed:

Champy, Adam (October 4, 2017). "Google Pixel Buds — wireless headphones that help you do more". Google . Retrieved December 12, 2022. For not a huge outlay, you get everything the pricier Pixel Buds 2 provided as far as Google Assistant abilities go, but with an all-round sound performance that stands up there with the best in the market at this price. Though they’re aimed primarily at Android owners, we can quite happily recommend the Google Pixel Buds A-Series to iOS users too, if they are in the market for some comfortable, reliable, good-sounding in-ears. The Pixel Buds Pro LED light will indicate the status of the earbuds or case depending on if it’s opened or closed: To control the earbuds, all you have to do is tap on the side. One tap plays and pauses music; two taps will skip to the next song; and three taps will rewind. You can also press and hold to summon Google Assistant if you’re paired with an Android device. Unfortunately there’s no way to raise or lower the volume using touch gestures on the Pixel Buds Series-A, but having Google Assistant on-board mostly works to circumvent this issue. For an iOS device it’s a more old-school process, but still easy enough. Once you’ve pushed the button on the charging case, with the lid up, find the earbuds on the device’s Bluetooth settings, and pair them from there. Unfortunately, the Google Pixel Buds do not have any way to access Siri, so you don't have access to Apple's digital assistant. This hinders the Pixel Buds as a good pair of earbuds to use with Apple devices unless you don't mind not having Siri. Sound that's music to your ears. With custom-designed 12 mm dynamic speaker drivers, Pixel Buds A-Series deliver high-quality audio. Pixel Buds A-Series frees your eyes and hands to bring you the sounds you love without distracting from what's important. Made by Google to be your most helpful, comfortable, and portable everyday earbuds.
