Although owned by the House of Rémy Martin, Louis XIII is worthy of its own section due to its position at the pinnacle of cognac production. It’s the most delicate of the Hine cognacs with fruity citrussy aromas on the nose, attractive apple hints on the palate and a long mellow taste in the mouth. Since my first bottle of Hine Rare,I have tried Courvoisier, Frapin, Hennessy, Maxime Trijol,amongst others. He’s a contributing author to international publications, a tasting panelist for various global platforms as well as the founder and host of Light 'Em Up. The vanilla becomes creamy on the palate and the French oak barrels come to the fore with a party of baking spices and dried citrus fruits.
