About this deal

I've got more for free from 20 minute YouTube videos than I did by spending 4 hours and an audible credit on this lightweight rubbish. I’d recommend this book for anyone struggling with deep despair caused by the ADHD in yourself, your relationships or your family; it’s full of hope, genuine compassion and practical tips.

Sometimes you have to walk before you can run and the reassurance here is just what someone needs at the start of their path. The whole thing just came across as weirdly trivialising, and made me feel like it's the neurotypical partners responsibility to understand and accommodate for their partners disability, because the ADHD partner can't HELP IT, their brain isn't wrong it's just DIFFERENT. Told from the perspective of the person who is blessed and cursed with a neuro-divergent brain and the person who loves and supports them. I found this book via the couple’s social media, which posts lighthearted, loving, fun and informative ADHD scenarios.and we have different views on lots of things – but we always discuss things in a respectful way (which is pretty bloody unusual in this day and age of polarised opinions being shouted about on social media! Nawet gdy sama autorka nie doświadcza konkretnych sytuacji, mogło by tu zostać opisane dla bardziej szerokiej perspektywy. Not least of these are the supplies and materials for “House of Resin,” a company that she spent three weeks building after seeing someone making a beautiful wooden table inlaid with a waterfall made of blue resin. This book; in high contrast with others written by doctors; is full with real experiences, authentic anecdotes and real-life situations that the writter has gone through in her journey as someone living with ADHD. Whether it's helping your ADHDer with friendly time-checks before an appointment or reminding yourself to take breaks during hours spent hyperfocusing on a new project, Rox and Rich give you the tools to destigmatize and normalize life with ADHD.

There are some nice tidbits of advice, and the story is well-performed, but overall this was not worth the time for the limited guidance offered. The authors are so lovely and down to earth and I love that they take turns storytelling and reflecting, creating a very balanced approach to this sensitive topic. It's an easy read, finished in a few hours, and I must admit, I shed a few tears and had a few "oh my god, that's an ADHD thing too? Richard Pink and his wife Roxanne Emery are often stopped in the street by fans of their social media accounts. It's a husband and wife team utterly in love and both doing their absolute best to support one another.

I really like the couple's TikToks and find them really relatable and funny, but for some reason the book just doesn't hold up the same. I thought that since I was medicated that it fixed ALL my ADHD symptoms and that whatever it didn’t fix was just because I was a lazy human or careless. If you already know anything about ADHD you are unlikely to learn anything from this lightweight work.

Being someone who’s struggled with many of the same issues throughout my life, I only wish that this book had been published sooner!

With empathy and insight, they address the prevailing shame surrounding this neurodevelopmental condition and unveil the underlying factors contributing to this sense of inadequacy. These are moments that won’t ever be shared on the internet because I was genuinely struggling to stay alive. This book approaches ADHD in a frank and completely transparent way, showing the absolute worst parts of ADHD that people who live with the condition are often so ashamed to acknowledge, never mind admit to.
