About this deal

The first of our known hobby branded options is The Army Painter Pin Vise. this one is great and well built. It does use collets however these are only 1 sided and there’s one for each of the different sized drill bits you get with it. The drill feels a bit short in my opinion but is still comfortable to hold and it has a smooth mechanism. The handle is fastened in with a rubber ring and just pulls off to access the internal storage. The Army Painter Hobby Drill I’d give this one 4/5. It looks nice, feels good and offers a bit more than previously offered. It feels a better quality to the hand and is a nod to those who use them regularly with the variation in drill bit. Like the others, it has a more ergonomic handle than the previous offering. it’s got curves in all the right places. My favourite parts are how and where the blade is held. The Citadel Drill comes with two 1mm bits and two 1.5mm bits – the perfect size for bolter barrels and heavier weapons, respectively. Its body has been designed for comfort, while the securing mechanism is in the middle, so it won’t unfasten in use. Drills are also vital for pinning parts together on larger models – especially heavier resin kits.

This is perfect for this review as we have a few not-positive things to say. But I also need to apologise to GW, because I’ve been humping their legs for the last 4 years trying to get included in this exclusive club. Only for my first review to be their tools. And whilst I don’t hate them, I don’t love them either. Mould lines are a reality of highly-detailed plastic kits. These thin lines of plastic are a relic of the moulding process, but they can get in the way of painting, especially on skin and flat armour. That’s where the new Mouldline Remover comes in. The sharpness is average, the cuts are alright, but I found it difficult to get really close to the components, so there was still a lot of excess plastic I had to cut away. That’s probably because the blades are still rather large, which makes it hard to reach tight areas in a sprue. Still, the build quality is pretty decent, but for the price they’re asking, I would probably invest in a pair of single-blade nippers. Dual vs single-bladeBy the way, you can find a more detailed comparison of 8 hobby grade cutters and nippers over on my Patreon. The alternatives:

What I mean by this is that it’s hard to even find. Look at the Citadel Tools section on games Workshop.com. This is not listed. the only way you can find it is by specifically searching for “Knife” The new knife is made of plastic like all the new tools, but has a more ergonomic shape. What I particularly like, and what I haven’t seen before in any other scalpel knife, is how the handle extends over the top of the blade. This makes it easier to apply pressure when cutting without having to worry about the blade breaking. I think that’s pretty ingenious. Apart from that, they’re as expected. The nose is narrow and can get into fine details, the blades are super sharp and cutting is cleaner and easier than my used Xurons. The handles are also a comfort upgrade from the previous model, though they do feel lighter. Mouldline Remover With the help of citadel, hostage situation due to maritime piracy can be successfully thwarted, making the methodology a highly favourable one. However, all the precautionary steps should be taken to make sure that it safe and secure for the ship’s crew.I wouldn’t even say this one is overly expensive either. of all the tools this is probably the cheapest for Games Workshop to produce, but it’s also the one they will definitely sell the most of. The old knife’s angular handle also lead to slips and because of it’s more defined angular shape, a slight twist would easily become a 90-degree pivot.
