About this deal

My question is, “why bother?”. With my not too expensive DSLR + a Micro Nikkor, I can take very good shots and also have control over the aperture, which I think is essential, as well as some decent working distance. How is focussing managed with your fixed disks with holes is a mystery to me. Haluk, no doubt that a camera and a decent lens will produce far better results. I reviewed these products because I was asked for a favor and they allowed me to pass time playing with them and then writing about my experiences. Stay tuned for my upcoming article in progress, it is on a totally different subject. This product uses a high-quality 100mm lens to significantly increase the magnification of your phone camera, making your phone capable of macro photography without the high cost of professional cameras and lenses. I love macro lenses for phones, but I don’t love how close you have to get to your subject to use them.

This adaptor is built around a grip that latches on two sides of the phone with a sliding rectangular lens mount. The grip is quite robust and available separately if you want. They also provide foam padding if you want to use it. That may make it level and stronger, but I was fine without them. It is worth noting that all their lenses fit on the same grip or clip as they call it. The kit I received, Apexel 100mm Macro Lens Kit, is different from what I thought I would receive. In the pictures below, you see the adaptor mounted on my phone, a Samsung S22, and some with the Arca-Swiss plate to mount the gear on my tripod. By adding a macro lens to your smartphone, you’re usually getting between 10x and 20x optical zoom. All that optical zoom means that you’re going to get super close-up shots that are crisply in focus. What is Working Distance? There is a video that I made all about this lens from Apexel. If you watch very closely you may see me having fun. I was having fun communing with a dragonfly that thought I looked mighty tasty. By the time I had to tear myself away, I had bonded with the dragonfly, just like that crazy dude in the movie did with an octopus. The dragonfly, however, had not bonded with me, but wanted to eat me more than ever. You don’t have an experience like that as a woodworking enthusiast, or a scrapbooker. Then again, we don’t often get to chop our fingers off or be responsible for a grandchild aspirating a fist full of tiny plastic libraries. I suppose it all comes out in the wash.

Thanks for sharing a very interesting toy. Like Ramazan, I also liked the cover picture, even though I am not a fan of fountain pens. It was too many times I had my fingers stained, the ink to stay on my fingers almost ad infinitum. I used the BeastCam Pro Camera app from BeastGrip to take my photos for this post and accompanying video for a few reasons. With its polarizing filter on the lens and a decent focus distance, I was able to experiment with cross-polarization once more. The rotation of the polarizer on the lens shifted the colors without disturbing the subject. I had fun playing with the setup. The photographs below show the result of rotating the circular polarizer on the lens while the gear is mounted on a tripod. Thanks for the prompt response, Cemal. Now it is clear and in that respect you have served very well to them. Your seducive article made even me want to rush out and buy one. Explore the macro world with your mobile phone camera using the clip-on Apexel 100mm Macro Lens for smartphones. I pulled out a couple of watches and pens from my collection as macro subjects. Watches posed a little challenge, but pen nibs came out rather sharp. I love the tripod! And, I could not resist photographing an item some of you may remotely remember, Kodak Disc film.
