About this deal

I bought these during last year’s sale and was initially looking to use them as a long distance running shoe, but for a number of reasons, these ended up becoming a daily wear shoe and weight lifting shoe. Taking a look at them both on the feet you can see a similar silhouette, but some definite differences. Vivo developed a new sole for these shoes that is extra grippy. In comparison to their everyday soles, I can definitely tell the difference. You can use them on the tennis court, but I haven’t heard from many people who have actually done it. For the Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit’s performance, I’m breaking the below into a few different sections to discuss how this barefoot shoe performs in a variety of settings.

These shoes are also fit for leisure and recreational training sessions and activities, not just for intensive training sessions. It is perfect for active movements, maneuvers, and body-based training sessions. After wear, the shoes are getting closer to a ‘roll’ but will never truly do that due to the amount of leather above them. Right now, it’s a pretty solid 3-part fold. The shoe uppers are made of leather, which makes them so easy to keep bright and clean. Most of the time all you need to do is wipe them down and if they get scuffed you can use a rubber to erase marks. The interior is partially lined with leather and partially fabric. Sole: I do not think this sole feels as flexible as my Gobi IIs, despite being marketed as the same soles, but in a specific way. These feels like they are slapping the ground vs flexing with my foot as I run. This is definitely a road running shoe, as there are no lugs to help with traction off-road. I’d also argue these are only good in dry/fair weather. I had little to no traction when I used them on days it rained or if I stepped in a puddle from snow. The lacing and stitching do a great job of disguising the width of the toe box and they look like a stylish shoe by any standard. The subtle sheen of the leather gives them a little class, but they’re simple enough to work for just about any style, whether feminine or masculine. Vivobarefoot’s Geo Racer was designed to provide users with flexibility and breathability while moving. This shoe is part of the vegan collection made from materials that are recycled. Although the design is modest, it still offers sufficient protection underfoot with its Pro5 puncture-resistant layer. Made from Vegan Materials

Whether it is a day at the gym, a timeout, workout, early morning run, or just as daily wear, the Vivobarefoot shoes are a perfect fit that sits lightly and comfortably. From heavy lifting to gain muscle , to training sessions, its comfortable material is not just lightweight but also of a stretch nature, allowing it to fit and blend into your different activities.

Customer reviews

Vivobarefoot’s flat and flexible shoes are good to my feet, and with the release of the new Geo Court they’re good for my style too. The Vivobarefoot Geo Court is the PERFECT leather sneaker. They’re that exact blend of sporty and simple that makes it possible to pair them with everything, but without compromising on foot health. In the context of lifting and strength training, the Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit excels the board. If you’re performing heavy barbell lifts, the 4mm thin sole will help limit the overall range of motion you’re working with especially in movements like deadlifts. I’ve deadlifted over 500 lbs in this model with ease and no sign of compression. These barefoot shoes are certainly more than a walk in the park. Here’s a great way to be a part of saving the planet, one step at a time, literally . What Are the VIVOBAREFOOT Men’s Shoes Best for? Its lightweight design is another core perk of the Geo Racer II, making it perfect for athletes. It is the perfect blend of durable and versatile material that is protective and comfortable at the same time with reinforced overlays. It is specially designed with various foot-related activities in mind to ensure that it serves its purpose and a lot more. Note, you can certainly run in them, but I’m choosing not to so they go the distance in regard to their overall durability. If you do run in them, I’d suggest being conscious of the sole and upper construction and if you notice either breaking down, stop the running to prolong your shoe’s life. Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit Performance

In this context, I feel like it’s more of a matter of personal preference. If you like your shoes to fit a bit snugger in length (you’ll still have plenty of toe box width and room) and plan to use them for versatile training, then you may want to go a size down from your traditional size. If you don’t mind a little extra length, then stay true-to-size. Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit Price Its lightweight feature coupled with its durable and sturdy sole makes it suitable for various activities. The barefoot men’s shoes are also made from comfortable, breathable material with no itch, contractions, or skin irritations making it a perfect all-day wear. The 4mm light sole model is also an additional perk when mastering your grip and balance with the ground. Its wide design makes this model perfect for natural stability and balance, just as you would have with your standard feet but with the added protection of the Geo Racer men’s shoes. For running, this shoe works for shorter bouts and I think most will find the knit upper to be plenty comfortable for their sessions. The outsole provides adequate tread and the shoe as a whole feels very minimalist. Across the board, the Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit has performed exceptionally well and there are a variety of pros that come along with this shoe. The knit upper, while lightweight and breathable, is definitely not going to be the most durable when it comes to resisting friction on the upper of the shoe. In addition, I actually don’t like running in this model outside either and feel like the knit in this shoe will be more prone to stretching out with longer running sessions. Below, I’m going to break down some of the most notable construction details about the Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit. Their wider anatomical-shaped toe box also really helps to promote their overall maneuverability for daily wear. These have also become one of my barefoot shoe go-to’s for walking the dogs and running errands.

Inside is a removable performance insole called Bloom. It was made with a combination of EVA foam and BLOOM algae. It improves the shoe’s breathability from within, allowing the air to circulate to keep the foot cool. Another major perk of this model is the lightweight knit upper. The knit upper stretches and breaths really well which gives this model an overall lightweight feeling. My feet can get pretty hot in longer barbell sessions and the upper in this model does a good job at keeping the foot fairly cool. Absolutely. Like any barefoot shoe, the Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit model is fantastic for strength work and exercises where you really want to promote natural movement and feeling the ground. 4. How much does the Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit weigh?

Review Summary

These sneakers have been updated in 2021 to be softer and not so close around the ankle, which is great news. When I first got these in 2020 they rubbed my ankle bone for a while until they broke in. In general, Vivobarefoot shoes do require some breaking in, but they last a really long time. Below are a few of the most commonly asked questions that I’ve received about this model. As always, if you have additional questions, feel free to ask away. 1. Does the Vivobarefoot Geo Racer Knit have a removable insole? These are the men’s version of the Geo Court II, which means they fit great. My feet are 26.8 x 11 cm and I can almost even wear my Correct Toes in these shoes, but they’re just a teeny bit too tight at the pinky with them in. But for regular wear, they are wonderfully wide. Not at all. It’s not an, ‘either-or’– you know, sure it’s got the looks that make it perfect for getting up to mischief round the neighbourhood. But it’s technical, performance footwear – don’t be in any doubt about that. Cross-fit, lifting – those disciplines demand balance and the role the foot plays is fundamental. Or you might get acrobatic like the athletes we met doing calisthenics. When you blend the look, the flexibility and feel – how that improves balance and strength – it’s just a very elegant solution that sits across lifestyle and active. Sizing: spot on with my Gobi IIs. I measured my foot and matched it to the size guide, and it was the correct size.
