About this deal

My Sister the Vampire is a cheery urban fantasy series dealing with the troubles of a middle school (and later high school) kid navigating through moving to a new city and discovering a previously unknown identical twin sister. The series was written in a fiction mill by multiple authors all writing under the pen name Sienna Mercer. Originally printed in the UK by Harper Collins, Scholastic later ran a reprint of the first 13 books with updated cover art and 6 of the books re-named. Unfortunately, to add more confusion, the 13th book was re-named the same title as the 18th. This book is called "My sister is a vampire" and it's written by Sienna Mercer. Sienna Mercer is Canadian. She writes book for children. This book is fiction but could be realistic fiction. The story could also be mystery because it's a sequel so every end of the books are mysterious so it makes you want to read the rest of the books. Tim tried not to groan out loud, but Sarah did, and made a face, too. He knew what she was thinking: Schedules. The last time their great-aunt had taken care of them, she’d planned each day so carefully that there wasn’t any time left over to do anything. Tim hadn’t been able to train properly, and Sarah had had to neglect her worm farm. That had been her last year’s passion, along with Dracula, the Wolf Man, and any horror movie she could see. Aunt Clara had limited their movie-going, though, to things like Cinderella and David Copperfield. (p. 4) If you’re looking for a way to introduce your tween to classic vampires, this isn’t it. These vampires have no fangs (literally—they file them off). But the books are fun and cute without being insipid—good escapism for the 8 to 11 year old set. They might also be good for reluctant readers because they’re short but fun to read, and they don’t feel too much like little kid books.

But it was entertaining and I didn't want to rip the book to shreds, so that's pretty good in my opinion. Ivy Vega is an 8th grader. She is your UBER Goth type. She also has the ability to give anyone the "squinty eye," and get them do what she wants. Ivy eventually reveals to Olivia that she's a vampire (along with most of the other goths in Franklin Grove). Of course, when it comes to the mysterious question about the life of a vampire (as well as whether or not it’s supposedly “false” and “empty” as Lady Veronica puts it), no two answers are the same; they’re as different as two snowflakes (meaning the well-known snowflake analogy, to be precise). There isn’t exactly a ton of character development—the trouble-making characters will pretty much always make trouble—and some of the plots are rather predictable, but at the core is a message of acceptance, both of yourself and of the people you love. Secrets are central in many ways, but they don’t keep secrets from each other or from their parents for very long. Even when they’re nervous about telling the truth, it’s never as bad as they fear. I’ve mentioned my issues with secrets elsewhere, and these books feel like an antidote to that in some ways. SPOILER ALERT: Things you might want to know before suggesting this to your kid Family Asi takto nejak to začína a mne to silno pripomínalo Buffy a guess what... táto popkultúrna postava je aj spomenutá v knihe :) takže ďalšie plusové body. Okrem toho sa spomína aj Horla od Guy fe Maupasssanta a to som si vygooglila, tá kniha je tiež reálna. Characters: Ivy Vega, Olivia Abbott, Sophia Hewitt, Camilla Edmundson, the Beasts (group) Charlotte, Katie and Alison Olivia and Ivy's twelfth fright-time adventure. Ivy and Olivia are together again - and not a moment too soon. The whole vampire community is in a flap. Can the twins discover the identity of the mystery blogger who's determined to expose Franklin Grove's biggest secret? Sienna got the idea for My Sister the Vampire from a daydream she had - what if she had a super-cool twin sister... who was a vampire? She loved the characters - and their kooky friends and family - so much that she just had to keep writing about them.

Spooktacular!– Olivia Abbott is used to vampires. . . after all, her twin sister Ivy is one! But she’s never believed in ghosts. That all changes at the Café Creative Halloween party, when Olivia meets a beautiful girl who’s dressed in a strange red gown and behaving super spookily! Ivy isn’t convinced. . . until she learns the legend of the tragic Calhoun sisters, who died over 100 years ago. Could Franklin Grove be haunted? One thing’s for certain-the twins are in for their spookiest Halloween ever! It's really really good. I love Ivy's character the most, maybe its because I see myself through her. I'm not goth though but I definitely feel like Ivy and I are twins - not twins more like clones. And every time she ( Sienna Mercer) describes Brendan Daniels, Ivy's love interest, I see Evan Peters in my head. I dont know why but I love it. Olivia reminds me of my older sister who actually tried out for cheerleading once and she loves fashion and she's girly. Okay. I'll start with the wedding. So the last thing I remember from this series was the upcoming wedding plans for Charles Vega and Lillian. I even stated in my review of the 12th book that I expected this book to be the plot that circles around the wedding. Unfortunately it isn't. The wedding was barely mentioned actually. There weren't details about the planning, decorations, cake, dress, drama, tears, etc. But it was nice to know some facts about it. I guess if Ms. Mercer did focus on the wedding as the plot for this book it wouldn't be as much as a My Sister The Vampire book. So it was okay that the wedding plot plan that I had in my head didn't happen. I understood. The series follows a pair of long-lost twin sisters named Olivia Abbott and Ivy Vega (they were separated as babies and adopted into different families when they were a year old). After Olivia and her adoptive parents move to the town of Franklin Grove due to a job transfer, Olivia eventually discovers that, in addition to her and Ivy being long-lost twin sisters, Ivy's also a hiding a very grave secret.

Rags to Riches: Date With Destiny has Transylvania maid Tessa marry Prince Alex; the entire novel is based on her wedding. Bear in mind that before, she was a Shrinking Violet in Love Bites. Olivia and Ivy also count. The story takes place at Franklin Grove Middle School Franklin Grove is not your normal middle school. Everything seems dark and dreary. But the kids don't seem to mind, since they are into all things dark.Written by a Canadian author from Toronto named Sienna Mercer, My Sister the Vampire is an urban fantasy series for young readers. And how were the kids, Aunt Clara?” asked Dad when they were all inside again and had finished the preliminary hugs. “I’m sorry we were gone so long!” Also, I'm really happy that Ivy didn't get easily swept into the popular clique and followed Charlotte like some airhead. Instead she stood up for herself and her sister. I think that was a great positive scene for younger girls. Ivy's character is definitely a model for younger girls as she works hard towards her dream of making the cheerleading squad even though there's a negative force trying to bring her down. Twin girls separated at the age of one year old find one another at school. One is a Goth/Vampire; the other is a Pink/Bunny cheerleader ("Bunny" being what the vampires in these stories call non-vampires.) Despite their extreme differences in self-expression, they feel an immediate love and appreciation for one another, even before they realize they are twin sisters. Fashion Frightmare!– The Café Creative fashion show is just around the corner, and everyone who’s anyone is ready to strike a pose. Everyone except Ivy, that is. Modeling is her worst nightmare! Twin sister Olivia is there to lend a hand. But soon strutting down the catwalk is the least of their worries, when a priceless accessory goes missing. Is there a couture crook in Franklin Grove?
