The series was influential in the development of the situation comedy, with its move away from radio variety towards a focus on character development. episodes, pre-recorded on videotape, broadcast 19 February – 6 May 1960. All episodes still exist, for many years the TS version of "The New Secretary" was the only version known to exist until an off-air audio recording of the original version was found in 2002.
