About this deal

I just love " Last of the Summer Wine" have done for ever and now I have it on tap so I can dip in at any time. Super value, never seen so many DVDs in one box. Every single episode of the world's longest-running sitcom: all thirty-one series of the BBC's Last Of The Summer Wine. If you are in Australia or New Zealand (DVD Region 4), note that almost all DVDs distributed in the UK by the BBC and 2entertain are encoded for both Region 2 and Region 4. The UK and Australasia are in the same Blu-ray region (B). However, perhaps realising the set-up had seen better days, Clarke has instead widened the cast, creating bigger roles for Auntie Wainwright; aging Lothario Howard Sibshaw and introducing newcomers such as Billy Hardcastle: a passionate outdoorsman who claims to be a descendant of Robin Hood. Created as a submission for the BBC's Comedy Playhouse in 1973, before the year was up, a full series had hit our screens.

Last Of The Summer Wine - Series 19-20 - Complete (DVD, 2011) Last Of The Summer Wine - Series 19-20 - Complete (DVD, 2011)

At last count, it's notched up nearly 30 series, numerous Christmas specials and a 1988 prequel, First of the Summer Wine, with the whole canon being written by just one man: Roy Clarke. Extras: Anamorphic (16:9), Language(s): English, Hard of Hearing Subtitles: English, Interactive Menu, Screen ratio 1:1.33, Screen ratio 2:1.78 The upper, middle and lowers classes writ large: they were Former Royal Signals Sergeant and notional gang leader Cyril Blamire; flat cap-wearing voice-of-reason Norman 'Cleggy' Clegg and scruffy hormone-riddled layabout Compo Simonite. Saved quite a bit by buying pre owned. Condition was excellent and played perfectly, Ialways try to do this instead of buying new sometimes it is not available new any more.

Side guide

I have watched these episodes so many times that I could probably play any part! I never get tired of the beautiful countryside, the warm, fuzzy feeling, and of course, all the laughs! Over the years, the show adapted to the passing of many of its cast, but never was the challenge greater than when Bill Owen died in 1999. The series feels a little slow until you get to know the characters; then it is like old home week. Wilde bowed out in 1985, and the following year Michael Aldridge was introduced as ineffectual inventor Seymour Utterthwaite: younger brother to another fearsome Yorkshirewoman, Edie Pegden. He remained until 1990, at which point Wilde, and Foggy, returned. Selected items are only available for delivery via the Royal Mail 48® service and other items are available for delivery using this service for a charge. Very difficult to insert a "BUT"! but the plastic box they are housed in is a bit difficult to live with, DVDs escape so easily and soon become a muddle. The following year, his onscreen character was given a funereal send-off, and Owen's real life son Tom brought in to play Compo's long-lost son, also named Tom. Gentle sitcom following a group of pensioners living in Yorkshire. This show was Britain's longest-running TV sitcom. Stars Bill Owen, Peter Sallis, Frank Thornton, Brian Murphy, Michael Bates and more.

Last of the Summer Wine (Complete Series 1-32) - 58-DVD Box

Simply the best entertainment possible, I'd never watched Last of the Summer Wine before, then I found series 1-10 at a bargain price, after watching that, I was hooked, I just couldn't believe how good it was, just pure comedy, the best laughs possible for any age. I now have series 11-20 and have not been disappointed in any of them, they just got better and better. Old school friends in northern Yorkshire reminisce about old days, get up to all kinds of nonsense, and interact with other people in the area. There are quite a few well-known actors in the series. Hyacinth's next door neighbor in "Keeping Up Appearances" arrives late in the LOTSW series as Miss Davenport, the librarian. Bill Owen (who plays Compo) was a regular in the old "Carry On" movies.
