The US original is boosted in the mids which was probably the cutting engineer’s way of trying to get a louder cut (which it is). It makes the LP sound squawky. I don’t have a Beggar’s UK to compare, however this new cut sounds more like all of my Beggar’s 12” singles from the album- nice bass, even mids, with slightly less high end than the singles. a b Love (liner notes).
