About this deal

After rejecting a classmate's love confession, 14 year old Ko Yamori becomes increasingly depressed. I look forward to seeing where this story goes and I'll definitely be picking up a finished copy of this volume as well as the next! Arisa then plans to quit the cafe, but Midori forgives her, saying that all the cafe maids are working there out of some desire for recognition themselves. Akihito Akiyama ( 秋山昭人, Akiyama Akihito) Voiced by: Hiroyuki Yoshino [6] (Japanese); James Marler (English) Seri's vampire underling.

Midori Kohakobe ( 小繁縷ミドリ, Kohakobe Midori ) [2] Voiced by: Naomi Ōzora [10] (Japanese); Emily Neves (English) A long-sleeved shirt-wearing vampire who works in a maid cafe. The kid is 14, and doesn't really understand people (especially girls), and the fact that he arbitrarily decides he will fall in love with the girl is kinda funny? Ko has no experience having a close friend, let alone a girlfriend, and Nazuna is so easily hurt when something slips through the layers of armour she’s built up.It's theme of night is something I didn't realize I would connect with so deeply until I started reading it. Yamori is forced to greet her, and after he finds Nazuna playing in her room, she promises to give him a kiss as a reward for attending her in her place. There’s a very small amount of love triangle stuff in there, but never really any dramatic tension, and at the end Nazuna finally comes around and decides she wants to be friends with our guy after all.

Nazuna is very fun and cute and her carefree life in contrast with her easy embarrassment when Ko commits to fall in love with her is great. The summary didn't give Ko's age and I can only assume this was because the publishers knew if they gave away that information, people would be hesitant to purchase this volume. It’s sometimes a little male-gaze on Nazuna, hard not to be with her get-up, but I will say that this book is very light on straight up fanservice and instead leans hard into two people talking with one another and hanging out, which is where it’s at its best. As such, he offers to exchange their contact information, but she tells him she does not have a phone. A young boy (I forgot his name already) who’s disillusioned with his school and home life goes wandering the streets at night, only to encounter a vampire girl, whose name/title I understood to be something like “Nazuna of the Seven Grasses. They introduce themselves as Nico Hirata, Midori Kohakobe, Hatsuka Suzushiro, and Kabura Honda, as Nico tells him to choose amongst them, saying his choice will make him fall in love and convert him.
