About this deal

I was in care from 5-16. I was never happy in my 3 placements. I read all your books and often wonder how much I’d have loved you as a foster parent. I love your books and the insight to life as a foster carer. The stories are hard to read, especially the abuse ones. I only read them when I’m in the right frame of mind, but at the same time they bring me comfort knowing there is someone like you out there. Keep up all the amazing work you do.

Hi Lisa (Cathy), I have seen your name on book titles for a long time but resisted reading while my children were little. I felt I would feel too emotional. Finally last week I bought my first ‘Damaged’. I am on the fourth book now. I love reading non-fiction but I have never been bought to tears by books before, yet your stories are so emotive, I am often left in tears. I really can’t wait to read the rest, what an amazing talent you have. And what an amazing thing you have done, becoming a foster mum, especially after your marriage break up. What an amazing life you have had, God Bless you for being there when needed and spreading so much Love and joy. Kindest regards and wishes. This best series by Cathy Glass contains her latest books and there are 9 in total. Not only does she foster children, but she also helps young mothers. This series is the best testament to the kind and caring person that Cathy Glass is. In the titular book, Cathy tells the story of Faye, a 24-year-old pregnant woman. Collins have bought World rights in Cathy Glass’s latest fostering memoir Where has Mummy Gone?, the story of eight-year old Melody. Often Glass splits her books into multiple parts and spaces out the ebook publication of each part by a week or so before publishing the novel in its entirety. In the list below, only the full novel has been included once it is published in full.I have just finished reading A Family Torn apart. Very sad story but what a wonderful thing you do. I am delighted that Unwanted remains in the UK top ten for another week. Thank you for all your kind comments. I write my books to raise awareness so I am pleased this book has reached so many. She agrees only to find out a few days later it is not just Arthur but also his mother Lara who they decide needs to be put on a parenting plan where Cathy needs to observe and help in the way of letting Lara know what she needs to do in different circumstances…

Her intention is to show both the suffering and courage of the children she has fostered. Her memoirs have been used by professionals for training in foster care and child protection. Cathy Glass, Hi, I am your biggest fan. I love all your books. Some sad things have happened in my life but reading your books have given me so much hope. I am sorry for your loss of your parents as they were great people!!! They have also been a great support for you as I have read in your books. Cathy you are so perfect, I am currently reading your book Unsafe. Love I am very pleased to say that Unsafe remains in the UK Top Ten for a fourth week. Thank you for all your kind comments. Not only is “Cathy Glass” a pseudonym, but so are the designated names of the children that she writes about. This is perfectly understandable, considering the delicate nature of the material that Glass covers. Readers who typically enjoy Cathy Glass books are individuals who are partial to genres that are inspirational memoirs or true life stories. Glass started writing in her spare time, when she wasn’t busy caring for her family, including her various foster children. Good evening, I just wanted to let you know you are amazing. I love all your books and they are heart-warming. You are an inspiration. I have just read Where Has Mommy Gone and I have gone through some of it as an adult and it’s the first time I’ve cried during reading them. So thank you for sharing what you do as you really are a beautiful person. A trip to WH Smith at the weekend witnessed a score of titles from agency clients Casey Watson, Cathy Glass and Lynne Barrett-Lee on display.

I believe it takes a special kind of person to become a foster carer and I truly admire those who do it. These stories are all heartbreaking and eye opening and in some cases I find myself asking, how did you survive such horrendous abuse, whether it be physical or metal or in some cases both. Cathy, Good morning! I’ve just finished part 1 of Unwanted. Last time, I told you that might be one of the best books you’d ever written. This time, it might be one of the saddest. This story is just so dark. Domestic abuse, a mother who has absolutely no idea how to care for her child, and puppy love, this is just a third of the book! You’re a good writer, and I have no doubt that parts 2 and 3 will introduce new angles to this saga. I’m looking forward to the rest! Best. Good morning. I’m a 68-year-old French retiree and I’m writing to you using Google Translate. I love your stories as a childminder, and I am often moved to tears in the face of such dramas. Unfortunately your books are slow to be translated into French, there are currently only 10 of them, all of which I have read. On the last one I read, A Terrible Secret. I can’t wait to read the next translations. Thank you for your kindness to children, and thank you for your beautiful stories. Carry on! A fan. Harper Collins have bought world rights in Cathy Glass’s latest fostering memoir A Family Torn Apart. Cathy Glass books are a slightly guilty pleasure of mine. The way that Cathy portrays herself as taking 'damaged' children and 'fixing' them after they have suffered somehow reassures me that even the most evil situations can be somewhat remedied. Although I recognise that the suffering of the children can, tragically, never be properly healed.

The more time Jodie spends with Cathy, the better her behaviour gets. Jodie slowly begins to reveal things about her past, and it becomes clear to Cathy that Jodie was abused. Her parents were involved in a paedophile ring, and Social Services ignored the obvious signs. It is obvious that Jodie needs psychiatric help, and she asks Social Services to fund it. instead, they take Jodie away.
