About this deal

There are some problems with the book but overall there is not really a good reason why you shouldn't read it. Throne of Glass is officially rated for 17 and 18 year-olds, but many people read it earlier because although it contains a quite a bit of cursing and a lot of explicit scenes in Empire of Storms, it's not dirty. Children are corrupted not by the content they consume so much as by the repeated actions of society that doesn't fail to reach their notice. The book is largely devoted to establishing the characters and their world, setting up relationships, conflicts, and ethical dilemmas that will unfold in later installments. Last, there are many types of people in Throne of Glass that 6th graders probably shouldn't be exposed to unless their parents deem it safe.

Aside from a couple of hot, long-awaited kisses (described more for their emotional flights than physical reaction), there's little action to show for all the longing. The graphic and heart wrenching graphic torture scenes that crop up frequently, especially towards the end, are. The first book is no worse than something like th hunger games, but the sex is what got me towards the end. Parents need to know that A Court of Thorns and Roses is the first volume of a romantic fantasy trilogy by bestselling Throne of Glass author Sarah J. I know this is certainly late to the discussion but I would like to say to anyone who bothers to read these replies all the way through, if you are a parent or are a child of the age of 12/13, it depends on maturity, if you have talked to your child or are familiar with the "Birds and the bees" and aren't too bothered with gore then this book is for you!Maas reveals complex characters, puts them in impossible situations, and sets up plenty of developments in future volumes. However, I keep reading confronted opinions about the books, especially about the first ones, so I'm not sure if I should give them a try.

Westfall wants Celaena to be the young Prince Dorian’s ‘champion’ in a deadly contest in which she must face the most gifted criminals and assassins in the land. In a book where the main character is a career assassin, everyone is morally complex and often conflicted. i read this book when was in 6th grade, but i do think this book is more appropriate for 7th graders.Characters are interesting and complex, and emerging friendships and loyalties complicate their lives but also sometimes save them. It is over all a really good and addictive series i could not put it down and have reread it 6 times since. There are some adult themes like murder, violence but not to that extent that you would not want your kids to see (or read).
