About this deal

If you’re in the market for a limited edition Grado with gorgeous handmade craftsmanship and a fun and exciting sound signature, you can’t go wrong with the White Headphone. It’s great for pretty much anything you could listen to, but definitely excels where massive amounts of detail and crystal-clear imaging are a must.

Bass solidity and treble density felt pretty much the same between the Cowon and the Feliks Audio amp. Of course, fidelity was noticeably improved, which means the Cowon Plenue M sound quality is not tapping the limits of the headphone’s fidelity potential. The Feliks Audio ANV amp does though. No doubt. The White Headphone comes in a special swanky box. It holds the headphones, a 1/4 inch stereo adapter, and a sheet of paper that tells the story of the Grado family. Top of the line headphones do not always have to be neutral or clinical icicle canons, ear piercing, or specialists in only a few or even one genre of music for usage. The Hemp is a generalist. It is small, light, and comfortable. It scales very nicely and looks fantastic, at least, in my opinion. Grado, you are on fire lately! Give us more like this, please, this instant! Grado The Hemp Headphone Specifications Open-air design with tube-shaped earpieces—or as Grado would call them, “air chambers”—hand crafted from solid mahogany. The bass particularly feels tight and precise, landing with emphasis. And this articulate bass easily compliments the organic warm lows. Rest assured, bass and drums never sounded so fun and intoxicating, and the White Headphone turns every listening session into a mesmerizing timesink. The pay-off for their exceptionally open and dynamically fluid delivery is one that is pretty leaky, but if you can live with the fact these are headphones best suited for quiet environments and ‘me’ time, you won’t be disappointed. Drivers feature low-mass polymer diaphragms, neodymium magnets, and UHPLC (ultra high-purity, long crystal, oxygen-free copper) voice-coil wires. This is a Grado. It is very mid-forward and so well equipped for vocals. Grado likely always will be the go-to for this type of thing, if you want a smaller headphone. The Hemp is noticeably more forward than the Grado GW100 that I reviewed not too long ago. That is not to say it requires a lot of power to sound great, it doesn’t. The Plenue M, or really any solid portable music player, sounds very good with this player. Usually, I find that low end or treble is improved with a lot more power than what a portable source can offer. I didn’t find that to be the case here with the Hemp.

Grado offers a wide range of headphones across various price points. The Prestige Series, including models like the SR60e or SR80e, offers excellent value for beginners stepping into the high-quality audio ecosystem. For audiophiles seeking unparalleled audio performance, the Professional and Reference series, with models like the PS500e or RS2e, represent a significant but worthy investment. Of course, you have to provide the Grados with a quality signal. If that 3.5mm connection tempts you into thinking that a phone, laptop or budget music player are going to be ideal partners, you’d be wrong. These headphones will still sound acceptable with such sources, but we’d be looking at an outboard DAC of the quality of Chord’s Mojo for the laptop and phone, and at least Astell & Kern’s A&norma SR25 music player, if we want to hear the scale of the SR325x’s talents.

Features

I want beautiful, bold, and also good sounding design in my headphone. In this case, the fusion of Hemp and Maple looks a bit like Zebrawood, which is my absolute favorite visual appearance for a woodie headphone. High on quality, bass, midrange and treble are the main highlights while talking about the SR60e Prestige series from Grado. The audiophile sound are a good example of great durability and good value for money. On the look side, they may look like the old school ones, but they sure look stylish too. These do not have a fancy remote control inside, and also have a missing removable cable. But the sound quality puts them at par. In short, they would perfectly fall under the category of the best mid-priced Grado headphones, traditional in design and amazing sound quality with several latest upgrades missing (if they don’t really make a huge difference), they should be the ones that you would make love.
