Whisper Cottage: A completely addictive psychological

On 13th March 2009, OA East conducted a historical building survey at Whispers Cottage, Church Lance in the village of Tydd St Mary, Lincolnshire in advance of alterations scheduled to be made to the former cottage. Thank you to Avon Books UK and NetGalley who provided me with a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All the thoughts and opinions are my own. I enjoyed the intervals with mrs. Barley, the quirky elderly lady next door. She's an independent and compassionate soul, blessed with curiosity. OA Library is provided by Oxford Archaeology and powered by EPrints 3 which is developed by the School of Electronics and Computer Science at the University of Southampton. More information and software credits. An archaeological investigation was carried within the footprint of the proposed new dwelling on 14th April 2009. This revealed evidence of a single rubbish pit, dated to the mid 17th/early 18th century and may be a rubbish pit associated with the house. Item Type:

MY THOUGHTS: First off, I am going to state that I don't consider Whisper Cottage to be a psychological thriller. In my eyes, it is more of a mystery, and a very good one, a very enjoyable one. Things are looking up for Lily. Iain had all fake documents for her trying to take her home. Now he is smuggling dark sapphires. Lily and Calum is getting closer but both are in trouble with Iain again. This read will have you on the edge of your seat on what will happen next. Can’t wait for the next book to see what happens. This is one great series. Blakeney and its surrounding area are renowned for their awe-inspiring natural beauty, miles of untouched beaches and nature reserves rich with birds and wildlife. The region makes a unique holiday destination, popular amongst couples, families and groups of friends. Relax and enjoy our stunning holiday cottages in Norfolk, after all, you are in safe hands….. Overall, an enjoyable book that I wished had more oomph in the middle. But it did entertain and had me guessing. I love trying to figure a book out and had a few guesses about how things would turn out. I was wrong and was pleasantly surprised at how tings unfolded at the end.

If you like a slightly creepy mystery, with a few clever twists, then I am recommending Whisper Cottage. I loved it, and will be looking for more to read from this author. NOTE: At the time of writing this review I was unaware that this is Anne Wyn Clark's debut novel. An excellent debut, and an author worth watching. The mystery that leads the story drags on and on without excitement. No edge-of-my-seat review here. When the secret is finally revealed near the very end, I honestly lost all interest.Luxurious and sizeable, Sea Whispers provides everything you need to help you relax and enjoy the sights of Blakeney. Who is the mystery man? The one that sneaks in and out of Mrs Barley's summerhouse, the one that no one but Stina has seen, the man Mrs Barley claims she has no knowledge of. Once you’ve settled in, take a trip to Blakeney village where you’ll find plenty to see and do. Stroll down to The Quay and watch the yachts drift by or go for a spot of lunch in one of the friendly local pubs. Anne Wyn Clark's writing really shined with the unease and sense of doubt she created throughout the book. I wondered as well, was Mrs. Barley a lonely outcast who lived on the fringes of society for too long? Was she misunderstood and eccentric? Or was there something more sinister going on. I loved the dubious assumptions made in this book. OK, I'll be honest. What initially drew me to this book was the character's name - Stina. It is a shortened version of my name that was given to me by a child who couldn't pronounce all three syllables of my name some thirty odd years ago. However, this woman was christened the name which was said to be Swedish. Had it not been for that little tidbit I probably would have passed this book and never read it. The premise wasn't overly intriguing though it did have promise. So I held on to that in the hope it offered up something exciting.
