About this deal

I listened to this book on Audible, the narrator, Mark Meadows, had an Irish accent which fitted perfect with the Irish characters. THIS book caught my eye with its silver wrapping-paper effect hardcover of shiny snowflakes and bright red ribbon tied in a bow to look like the perfect gift. La autora me encanta por otros libros y, siendo que estaba ambientado en Navidad, debía leer esta novela.

The Gift by Cecelia Ahern | Waterstones

I’m a big fan of Cecilia Ahern but have to admit that I didn’t enjoy her last couple books as much as her earlier ones and I wasn’t really sure about this based on the blurb however this had me engrossed for the start and is every bit as enchanting as her earlier books. Cecilia Ahern has produced a masterpiece here, an original premise for a book and mesmerising characters. There are plenty of other holiday movies and books that read this way and many people love them, but I'm more of a guaranteed happy ending person- especially right now.I just love how she really has thought outside the box with the story well she dose with all books but this one blow me away . That time is slipping away, and that we won't get a second chance to make it right, we won't get extra time.

THE GIFT | Kirkus Reviews

To quote Oscar Wilde “ Mere colour, unspoiled by meaning and unallied with definite form, can speak to the soul in a thousand different ways”. La secţie este adus un adolescent, care aruncase un curcan îngheţat prin fereastra tatălui său, aproape rănind-o pe sora lui vitregă, pe motiv că tatăl său anulase cina cu el şi mama sa pentru a sta cu noua lui familie.

This book is her journey: hiding, deflecting and manipulating and finally accepting: her differences become her strength. The lesson I learned through writing it though is that time is moving so very quickly, let’s take control of our own time and spend it in a way that we share ours with the most important people in our life so that we don’t look back with too many regrets. The concept of seeing a persons emoticons as an aura and how it affects the life of the person seeing the aura. He seems to be flitting from one place to the other and always wishing he could split himself in half as he never seems to switch off not even at home. Wonderful development of characters throughout and the world through Alice's eyes throughout her life which was somewhat timeless.

The Gift by Cecelia Ahern | Goodreads

So many places to be, so many things to do, not enough time to do it in, so many people to spend it with. I don't believe the message that time is precious and you should appreciate your loved ones was something most people needed to be told by an over privileged chick lit author.Lou first appears as a generous and kind character as he takes a homeless person, Gabe, off the streets and gives him a job in his office block.

The Gift by Cecelia Ahern - Female First Book Review: The Gift by Cecelia Ahern - Female First

At the end of that chain dangles a clock, and on the face of the clock registers the passing of time. All of the characters and the settings were beautifully written and Alice’s journey through the book was filled with real lows.

Not just time on this earth, but the time you purposefully set aside for those who give your life quality and purpose.
