About this deal

One time I managed to get it to play at a loud volume when turning it on right after turning it off with the volume level literally at 0. Does this thing have a computer with faulty firmware? Electronics these days... The sound quality for its size is decent enough, the cd player is crisp and quiet in running operation an the tape plays crisp and clear, HOWEVER, do not attempt to make any decent recordings with this unit, the tape transport uses a cheap permanent magnet as an erase head, therefore recordings will have a lot of noise, here is the reason why i did my first modification. The Sony CFD-S70 Boombox offers very good value for money. It’s not perfect when it comes to sound quality or reliability, but in terms of overall features and performance for the price, it’s a good buy. It’s one of the most popular CD/tape players in the UK at the moment, and with good reason.

It’s important to note that the product doesn’t contain a built-in microphone, so you can’t use this cassette player to record yourself. Some people buy the Sony CFD-S70 Boombox with the intention of recording themselves practicing an instrument, and only later realise that this isn’t possible. Ease of use Depending on your age, the cassette player could either be the main reason why you’re interested in this product, or it might be completely irrelevant to you. If you have a large collection of tapes collecting dust, the Sony CFD-S70 Boombox will let you rediscover them. You can also use it to record from the CD player or the radio, though the recording quality isn’t especially clear. Obviously i don't expect everyone to do these mods, but if you do you will have a great little machine. The Sony CFD-S70 Boombox is generally easy to use, and comes with a clear and straightforward user manual. Most of the controls are obvious, so you will probably only need the manual for things like programming CDs and saving presets. These functions are intuitive too, unlike on many other machines where they are unnecessarily complicated. Sound quality

This product’s main flaws are its somewhat tinny sound and issues concerning the reliability of the CD player. If you need excellent sound quality and a more reliable CD player, you should consider choosing a different model. Alternative CD player radios Luemen, I have several "discman-type" portable CD players, though none with Bluetooth. These portable CD players function satisfactorily for playing my large CD collection, even connected to my main hi-fi audio system. A higher quality alternative is the Roberts ZoomBox2, which arguably has better sound quality than the Sony CFD-S70 Boombox and also offers DAB radio and a USB port for playing MP3s, though again it doesn’t feature a cassette player. Now the mega bass button, while it is true it boosts bass, it also boosts mids and highs aswell, so it should really be called a "loudness" button. Validate the disc that will you are trying to play will be supported by the player. switch or function available for the particular player, ensure that the particular switch or maybe the function is set AWAY.The disc tray is not going to open, cast a disc or even close. A cassette tape will not play, fast-forward or perhaps rewind properly. A good error code or message is displayed while attempting to play a COMPACT DISC. The "electronic" buttons on the top often seem to ignore my presses. Sometimes the boombox would do something that I didn't command it to do, such as decreasing volume when I press the increase volume button, or it switches to TAPE mode when trying to power it off. I have to press the power button a few times to turn it on. I have no clue why it does this. This began happening about a year after I got it.

About Currys Several buyers found that either the CD player or cassette player stopped working after a few months, suggesting issues with reliability. One similar product is the Roberts CD9959 Swallow . It offers an LW/MW/FM radio and a CD player, but not a cassette player. It could be a good inexpensive alternative if you don’t need a tape player. To verify model-specific info on these methods, refer to the instructions supplied along with the product.

Features

Right, this little player is great for a bedroom, but i have modified mine and ill tell you why in a minute...

Chances are you probably know all there is to know about Currys, but if you don’t then here’s a little more detail about them. The Sony CFD-S70 Boombox has a top-loading CD player that can play regular CDs or CD-RWs and MP3 CDs. This means you could burn hundreds of songs to a single disc as MP3s and play them on the CD player.
