About this deal

I listened to the audiobook and I think I will continue listening to them (yes I will be continuing with the series). As a class novel or guided reading book, I feel this text has a lot of breadth for discussion and linked cross-curricular work. I know my pupils are immersed in the world of the Impossible Place and are already talking about creating their own ideas and adding to the places their postal express could visit next. But this is no ordinary train. This is the magical delivery express for The Union of Impossible Places. This book is full of excitement, adventure and friendship, and would suit lower key stage two best. After reading this myself I was certain that my year 3/4 class would also love it. We are now about half way through and all 25 of my reluctant readers have given it a 10/10 so far - a first for any book we have looked at together. The plot is wonderfully creative and P.G. Bell uses a fantastic range of vocabulary, which I have found is great for supporting the development of pupils' own vocabulary.

Look out for the next installment in The Train to Impossible Places series, The Great Brain Robbery, coming October 2019. i think that this book would have been enough as an adventure story with alle the fun places the train can travel too and have that be the book. One night, Suzy is startled when the train to impossible places makes a pit stop through her house. With her parents asleep, Suzy joins the troll crew of the train on an adventure that will change the course of her life forever. An exciting, imaginative, wild ride of a story that never lets up for a moment. The Impossible Places are wonderful new worlds and I loved everything about this debut - the characters, the ideas and the twists in the tale. Bravo! (8+)

that felt as if someone’s tried to overstuff the book and everything fell a bit short because of that. This book is great for most ages, it doesn't matter how old you are to have somebody read the book to you or read it yourself as long as you understand the book. I love how exciting this book is, you never know what will happen next and it makes you want to never put the book down. I recommend this book to anyone who loves adventures, fantasy and fiction. it’s one of those books that teaches the younger reader a few words and doesn’t dumb down the story to fit a kid but isn’t actively trying to educate.

When Wilmot (a lone troll postie) discovers Suzy aboard the Postal express, he inducts her as member of the postal service. Suzy's first delivery is to the Lady Crepuscula (a formidable woman whose reputation proceeds her) doesn't quite go to plan and Suzy ends up not only carrying great responsibility but a huge secret; the fate of the impossible place rests on Suzy's shoulders. As Suzy tries to fulfil her new responsibilities as a postie, making deliveries all over the union, she also finds herself wrestling with her conscious to do the right thing. A fantastic addition to the series! My son loved reading this one and is excited to read the next one in the series. Robot Roz undertakes an unusual ocean journey to save her adopted island home in this third series entry. i loved that we had a science interest girl as a main character that tried to figure out what was going on with her understanding of physics.

Shortlisted for the Waterstones Children's Book Prize, the Branford Boase Award and the IBW Book Awards, with dazzling illustrations from Flavia Sorrentino, this is an imaginative adventure series for readers aged 7+! Even though it was fun to read, I have to admit that there were some scenes that made me sad. P.G. Bell is out there reminding me that instant messaging is not always a good thing; people who work in Postal Delivery would probably lose their job and income. If I look at children’s eyes, I think P.G Bell was trying to tell his younger audiences that there were times where we relied on letters to send a word to someone. And that’s a good thing! It's not everyday a train passes through the downstairs of your house with little creatures working as all different kind of things. Suzy is a normal, hardworking school girl who realizes that something isn't right, she hears something downstairs in the middle of the night and finds something unusual. This book is very imaginative and there are so many unexpected surprises. Sure signs that the creative wells are running dry at last, the Captain’s ninth, overstuffed outing both recycles a villain (see Book 4) and offers trendy anti-bullying wish fulfillment.Armistice Day: A Collection of Remembrance - Spark Interest and Educate Children about Historical Moments Suzy thinks she's an ordinary girl, but in the middle of the night she hears a strange noise, sees some weird flashes and sooner than she can realise she is SWEPT aboard a train passing through her very own home! She will soon discover that the odd train run by trolls is actually a magical delivery express for The Union of Impossible Places. And she is on that train to help them deliver their parcels. I'm struggling in being decisive with a star rating for this one. In some areas, I really want to give this book at least a three star rating because of how magical and unique the storyline was. However, in contrast, there were moments that I felt the story became too cluttered with too much action that I lost my focus on what was happening.

Will I recommend it to your children/younger siblings? Yes. I think kids would love this book just fine! Join Suzy aboard the train that will take her on so many magical adventures, where the journey will never, ever take you where you expect it to... But when this impossible train comes roaring through Suzy’s living room, her world turns upside down. After sneaking on board, Suzy suddenly finds herself Deputy Post Master aboard the train, and faced with her first delivery―to the evil Lady Crepuscula. I love a middle-grade book to build up a heavy based run of fantasy books. The Train to Impossible Places was definitely exactly what I needed.Born on Eventide, Morrigan Crow is a 'cursed child', blamed for every misfortune and destined to die on her eleventh birthday. But just before midnight strikes, the mysterious Jupiter North appears, offering Morrigan another choice: journey with him to Nevermore. In this magical world, she moves into Jupiter's awesome, ever-changing hotel and enters the tria…
