About this deal

The '70 Toyota Celica (Japanese: 七十トヨタ セリカ) is a Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) casting portraying the GT-badged variation of the first generation Toyota Celica coupe. The GT variation was the flagship car of the Celica range, and the 1970 model was only sold in Japan, with exports starting in 1971. The Celica GT model was equipped with a Twin Cam 1600 cc 2t-G or a 2000 cc 18-RG engine. The Toyota Celica GT-Four was a high-performance model of the Toyota Celica as a homologation special; the cars themselves were built to compete in the World Rally Championship, so a number of road-going cars had to be built to conform to regulations. The GT-Four rally cars featured a number of pioneering breakthroughs, such as being the first to introduce an anti-lag system and being the first Japanese all-wheel drive car to compete (and win) in the WRC.

In 2013 Hot Wheels produced the first-generation '70 Toyota Celica. And prior to both in 1998, the Pikes Peak Celica, replicating the 1994 GT-Four Celica driven by Rod Millen, made its Hot Wheels debut. The road-going GT-Four ST205 was launched in February 1994. It featured upgrades from the rally car, such as an all-aluminum hood for weight saving purposes, four-channel ABS, an improved turbocharger and "Super Strut Suspension". Specialty: A more affordable version of a Toyota sportscar, this contemporary favorite model pays homage to classic muscle cars. Loaded with style it delivers both fuel economy and power. Orange, White, Red & Blue tampos, Hot Wheels logo, #38For the 2013 First Edition of this casting, it was released in the same colours as the display Celica put on show at the 1970 Tokyo Motor Show in a pale yellow with the period-correct JDM pinstriping on the lower half of the doors. Specialty: Built for the Pikes Peak hill climb, this legendary record-breaker is a tribute to the man-against-mountain race circuit. The turbocharged all-wheel drive is rumored to deliver over 800 horsepower! This casting depicts a hybrid of sorts between the road-going and rally versions of the Celica GT-Four, featuring the front bumper, headlamps, indicators, wing and rear trim of the road-going car and a full rollcage, roof air intake and omission of the two rear seats of the rally version. The Toyota Celica is based on a 2001, 7th, and final generation Toyota Celica. The casting features a TRD Action-inspired body kit and wing; the rear wing appears to have been inspired by the Ultimate Celica Concept as also produced by TRD but with more exaggerated features. Additional engine, suspension and interior upgrades were also done to the concept. For the 1998 First Edition, the Pike's Peak Celica was released in the colours seen on the real-life 1994 Race car driven by Rob Millen, complete with the authentic Pennzoil logo and number 1 on the doors.
