About this deal

This is probably my favourite dish in the book - roast potatoes with a spicy peanut dressing and green veg - what's not to like? The proportions were all off here and I am not sure how you slice a red cabbage into cubes and then separate the leaves and lay evenly in a roasting tray without overlap or mess. Apart from a quibble about ‘protein sources’ the structure of these few pages is really good and is a handy visual for thinking about your own recipes. And to make the book even more user-friendly, a beautifully illustrated infographic section is full of ideas for how readers can design their own contents for a roasting tin whether a warm salad, stew, tart or super grain tray. I'm very into this book on many levels, but mostly because it is such an easy, fun and cheap way to eat more vegetables.

As a fan of sweet and savoury pairings we were loving the cauliflower pate with salted pear on bruschetta, and will absolutely be making the zesty, warming coconut, white bean and celery soup topped with garlicky homemade croutons again. There are breads, tagine, stew and aspirational lunches following on from vibrant meze and salads and starters that you might look to when entertaining friends. Speaking of soirees, Yotam does at least have the good sense to include suggestions of how to put all these recipes together into cohesive, multi-course meals, and that helps considerably in making it a more navigable volume. My falafel balls had dissolved, and the mixture had spread all over the tray like a biscuit that had lost its shape.Has some minor issues as a self-published c Ingenious and practical recipes- will be doing hard service for easy, quick delicious weeknight food- but would equally stand up to a posh tea if you were entertaining. it WANTS me to feel the sting of inadequacy resulting from the comparison between my finished product and the book’s. million copies to date ( The Roasting Tin, The Green Roasting Tin, The Quick Roasting Tin, The Roasting Tin Around The World, The Green Barbecue and The Sweet Roasting Tin). We trust Anna implicitly, and One: Pot, Pan, Planet features thoughtful updates on classics we’ve come to expect from this modern cook: a tamarind and sweet potato dahl is a glorious showpiece-dinner wrapped in a weeknight meal’s clothing, while her Persian soup is a complete revelation – how she squeezes so much flavour out of so few ingredients, we’ll never know.

We don’t mean it’s all fish and chips; there’s just a lot of wintery food in this, and it focuses on seasonal produce. Attractive but no general index and many pages have no page numbers which makes it hard to look recipes up.b>'Judy Murray, OBE | 'Earned a place in kitchens up and down the country'Nigella Lawson | 'A boon for any busy household'Jay Rayner | 'This book has changed my life'Juno Dawson | 'So delicious.

If you find yourself craving distinctly non-vegan foods then Richard Makin’s Anything you can cook, I can cook vegan needs to be in your kitchen. I appreciate that I'm in a position to do that," she explains, "but not everyone is - you can't ram that stuff down peoples' throats. I am not a Vegan or vegetarian but I do enjoy eating vegetables, I like to eat at least 1-2 vegetarian dishes every week, it helps my Diet, saves money but Most all it can be tasty.

I don’t doubt it will be every bit as successful, maybe even more, than Rukmini's first volume, which has earned a place in kitchens up and down the country. The premise is the same as Iyer's first book, The Roasting Tin, where everything is cooked in the oven in one tin; there really couldn't be anything simpler. Gado gado, if you've not heard of it before, is an Indonesian salad with warm potatoes, green beans, beansprouts and peanut-coconut dressing. Upon first read of the book, everything is presented really well, the photography looks awesome and the recipes seem to make sense. Really tasty, healthy recipes with a great variety of veg combinations I wouldn’t have thought of for myself.

I'm on my feet all day styling - it's a bit like cheffing, you never sit down - but I like eating something fresh when I get in, but I didn't want to stand and stir because I'd been standing all day. Perhaps autumn is not the ideal time produce wise to cook this dish, but it sure lifted our spirits as we were transported to the South of France with every mouthful. The ranch dressing tossed into a salad with baked buffalo cauliflower was every bit as good as it sounds, while a batch of lentil walnut bolognese was happily devoured for three days in a row without becoming boring, the walnuts providing bite our vegan spag bol had always been missing. Expect a familiar, humorous tone across helpful notes and inspiring pairings aplenty (tahini and Marmite just works).
