Treble has in fact good extensions and sufficient presence; it’s able to show itself effortlessly and to lend air and clarity to the scene as a whole. The hybrid ear pads are very soft and deep, so even people with very big ears should feel comfortable wearing the headphones. Details are not as good as open back headphones in this range (HD 600/650, Sundara, Beyers) but good enough in my book. Meze nailed it when it comes to materials and there’s no part of the 99 Classics that feel cheap, flimsy or inadequate.

They sound good out of the box but if you are coming from highly technical bright sounding headphones these will sound a bit too dark and mellow at first. I could finally play Apex Legends without forcing my girlfriend to listen to the sounds of the game and I heard where my opponents were.
