About this deal

I put this gravel vacuum to the test on an Oscar tank and a pleco tank at my local fish store. The Oscar in question was a notoriously messy eater, with the majority of the food falling to the gravel. As for the pleco? Well, let’s just say that his monster poops definitely put this gravel vacuum to the test. If you don’t already have a gravel vacuum, I suggest that you grab one today. This inexpensive product will make water changes and aquarium maintenance an easier task – leaving you with more free time to stare at your fish… There is no denying that Aqueon’s water changer saves time and effort when performing a weekly water change. Lee’s Ultimate Gravel Vac was an all-around okay performer. In an isolated review, it would have been held to a higher regard. However, because it was compared directly to the Python, its flaws were amplified. I am unsure if it’s by design, but the model we tested came covered in a fine white powder – not something we wanted in our aquarium.

Electric gravel vacuums operate a little differently, and they don’t drain your aquarium. Instead, this device automatically pumps water through it, trapping any uneaten food, poop and other gunk in a filter.

How Does The Python Aquarium Water Changer Compare to Other Gravel Vacuums Like Aqueon?

While I love the Fluval Edge range of aquariums, their similarly branded accessories can be hit and miss. Unfortunately, in the case of the Fluval Edge Gravel Cleaner, it’s a miss. The hose came clamped, restricting water flow. Once successfully unkinking the hose, the angled tube required me to hold the gravel tube on an angle when cleaning gravel, making it difficult to control in smaller tanks. Depending on the shape of your tank, you may find that you need a longer gravel tube to reach the bottom of your aquarium. http://youtu.be/V3dhg5ylCnQ Video can’t be loaded because JavaScript is disabled: How To Use the Python No Spill Clean & Fill | Big Al's (http://youtu.be/V3dhg5ylCnQ) So how does Python Water Changer Work? The shortest Python is 25 foot. However, you could buy their Gravel Tube with Tail Connector (2.5 ft) + the Gravel Cleaner Extension (10ft) for a total of 12.5 ft. The hose on the ordinary python siphons is about 6 ft, just too short…

You can use the assembly for a while before you glue it together; the press-fit is usually plenty strong to hold together and won’t leak. Honestly, I have been using this for almost a year and I still haven’t glued it together. Budget. Needless to say, this is always the fi
