About this deal

I'm not sorry for a messy and poorly written review, but I just don't care and I don't use the word hate but boy howdy do I want to do that with this book.

I can understand why but I'm going to break down why a lot of the reviews are hating for the wrong reasons. It is against this backdrop that Syd is trying to detangle the complexity of her emotions, as well as navigating the broken relationship with her mother, who is also grieving. As viewers, we had the knowledge of Syd's powers and everything she has been struggling to get a handle on, so it becomes entirely plausible that her father had actually been going through the same.Later that night, after a cold discussion with her mother, Sydney sits frustrated on the floor of her room when part of the wall cracks behind her. So, either another streamer will step in, or Netflix will change its mind almost as soon as a vaccine starts being handed out. In a statement addressing the cancellation, Netflix said: "We've made the difficult decision not to move forward with second seasons of The Society and I Am Not Okay With This. She hangs out underneath the bleachers, listens to music in her friend’s car, and gets into arguments with her annoying little brother — but she also has a few secrets she’s only shared in her diary.

I say surprise because it has a very hard ending and all along the way the main girl goes through mostly hard things in her life. Unnecessary characteristics and terrible ending aside, I Am Not Okay With This is an effortlessly compelling and enjoyable read. Her guidance counselor recommends Sydney start a diary to channel her anger, and Sydney agrees reluctantly. Speaking about what she'd like to see if the show gets the go-ahead for a second season, Kathleen Rose Perkins, who plays Sydney's mum Maggie on the show, knows exactly what she wants to see.Following Sydney's incident in the forest, she realizes Stan saw everything and she swears him to secrecy before running off. For much of season one her powers seemed largely out of her control, but by the final episode (whether she meant to or not) Syd took things up by more than a few notches.

As the series goes on, Sydney must learn to control her growing telekinetic powers, especially as larger plot dynamics and dangers grow, but the true pleasure of the thing lies in Lillis’s wonderful performance, which manages to convey the depths and numbness of loss beneath the layers of more ordinary teenage fury and frustration all lying beneath the traditional pose of sardonic disaffection.I wonder if Syd being drawn like Popeye’s Olive Oyl was a visual pun on the name of Chuck’s imprint, Oily Comics? We knew this was going to be this mystery undercurrent throughout the season that would start subtle and would rise closer and closer to the surface, eventually puncturing the surface in the finale with the introduction of the stranger, who we still don't identify. Forsman graduated in 2008 and is a two-time Ignatz Award-winner for his self-published minicomic, Snake Oil.

Chatting to Screenrantabout the relationship between the two leads (Sydney and Stan), Lillis said: "Sydney. She is angry pretty much 99% of the time, and you sure wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of her outbursts – just ask her brother's pet hedgehog, or the school library. If you like indie comics, check out anything with Chuck Forsman’s name on the cover – dude is a brilliant creator! She then recruits Stanley for his car, but falls short of money to pay for groceries and begins to put food back.

The book has a timeless and somewhat nostalgic feel that I also really enjoyed and the style reminded me of Popeye, which I liked.
