About this deal

New and familiar characters abound, voiced by a bright mix of performers, including Kat Dennings, Regé-Jean Page, Emma Corrin, Michael Sheen, Kristen Schaal, Brian Cox, John Lithgow, Jeffrey Wright, and so many more, including fan-favorite narrators Simon Vance and Ray Porter. There she is given the chance to undo her regrets and try out each of the other lives she might have lived. A resolve to be a giant among men, to conquer, plunder and seize the greatness that he thinks is his right. As recriminations fly in the tiny flat and New York shuts down in the blizzard, readers who are theatre fans might speculate on possible real-life inspirations for this bunch of screwed-up luvvies, but Julie Walters, though herself a national treasure of stage and screen, is much more interested in her cast's inner lives than in burlesquing her profession. Addressed in green ink on yellowish parchment with a purple seal, they are swiftly confiscated by his grisly aunt and uncle.

Unfortunately she brings another friend, Maggie Salt, an actress of waif-like beauty but troubled and destructive spirit, who sets events in train by going missing as soon as they arrive, just as the first flakes of a heavy snowstorm begin to whirl.

Another point in the reading guide is a question on whether Julie Walters’ background is a factor for the reader in choosing to read this book. Michael brought her to the hospital and informed her friends of her whereabouts – he thought Maggie’s name was Helena Cassidy – this is the name Maggie gave to her after all and he also found a letter addressed to the same name in the pocket of her coat.

Still, each earns their moment of tragic dignity, and Walters never fails to allow pity where pity is due.

The reading guide at the end of the book mentioned something about this kind of presentation – well, it’s probably an effective method when doing a film, but it will definitely fail in a book. walters' choice of words was okay and this story has a nice idea but the constant change of point of view makes the readers grow tired of it.

a hard to follow depressing read which is over detailed in a confusing way, with characters who I just didn't care about. One Thursday lunchtime the Earth gets unexpectedly demolished to make way for a new hyperspace bypass.Probably, it was only Michael that got the most backgrounder but even that was not enough in my opinion as all I know is that he is estranged from her wife Elizabeth, and that they had a son (Dominic) who died at a very young age – so what?
