About this deal

We get to learn a lot more about relative newcomer to the team, DS Joseph Hudson, and the development of his relationship with Helen. That’s the temperature our planetary oven is currently set to, and if we do nothing, that’s the temperature our slowly-heating oven will eventually reach. Un volum foarte reușit, dar nu înțeleg ce are autorul cu personajul principal pentru că de fiecare dată îi inventează un personaj care o trădează și o lovește.

I thoroughly enjoyed All Fall Down which is an exciting, tense read with some good twists, as we have come to expect from Mr Arlidge. As certain as Grace is about these facts, nobody else believes her -- so there's no one she can completely trust. Short, snappy chapters ensure the reader’s interest doesn’t waiver, and propel the story forward at a speedy pace. The writing flows well, is addictive and Arlidge does a stellar job of maintaining a sense of tension throughout the duration of the compelling story. Today I’m thrilled to be sharing my review for All Fall Down, the latest book in the Detective Helen Grace series. Now I don’t want to get ahead of myself here, seeing as it’s only January and all, but that may have been the best book I’ve read in a long while. Matthew (MJ) Arlidge has worked in television for the last twenty years, specialising in high-end drama production, including prime-time crime serials Silent Witness, Torn, The Little House and, most recently, the hit tv show Innocent. It is believed to have killed around 45% of the British population – by contrast, the First World War killed around 1. Anything but the chilling truth… That someone is watching, waiting, ready to take your life in one hour.

The murders seems to be linked to the previous abduction of the teenagers and the clock is ticking for the police to find a killer. Bubonic plague is the disease one imagines on hearing the word plague – black buboes in the groin and armpit, red markings, fever. I've always loved reading, and I spent most of my childhood trying to make real life as much like a book as possible. The village has heard of this pestilence – all sorts of stories and some that are most likely untrue. DI Helen Grace and her team are assigned the case and soon find that Justin will not be the only victim and the past has a long reach.Several years previously 5 teenagers were abducted and tortured, 4 escaped barely alive and their abductor was never found. But they can't control Grace -- no more than Grace can control what she knows or what she needs to do.
