The goods do not need to be in their original packaging however in a sellable condition, and at your own cost and risk. I have to say, if you want to read a book about Afghani culture- this couldn't be further from the realities of it.

I’m not a fan of love triangles in stories because I think it’s a clichéd and heavily overused plot-device, but luckily it didn’t feature heavily in the story and so it didn’t bother me too much. Deborah Rodriguez is a hairdresser, a motivational speaker, and the author of the bestselling memoir Kabul Beauty School. I would urge others to read the author note at the end of the book as it tells how this book came about due to the recent war in Afghanistan and how the country has gone backwards instead of progressing with women and children yet again being made to feel inferior and needing men to be able to do things that most of us take for granted. Instead of going to study overseas as his sister has done, he feels it is his duty to stay and look after his widowed mother (not that she needs much looking after! I found two of the characters, Candace and Isabelle, astonishingly pointless as they added nothing to the plot. Set against the American’s withdrawal from Afghanistan, we see the people who fear for their freedom and what it will mean when the Taliban take over, The younger people in the story, can’t believe they’d be allowed to seize power, but they underestimate how frightened people are.You will grow to love most of these characters, and want desperately for each of them to find happiness.

She has hired Afghan men and women as workers, but despite the conditions of Kabul, they are tolerant of the Westerners, to a point. I don’t know much about the country either, save for what I’ve seen in news reports about its people’s ongoing struggle against the Taliban. More about the characters thoughts and feelings deep down and more connection between some of the characters as well. Then the US troops begin to withdraw - and the women watch in horror as the Taliban advance on the capital at ferocious speed. It was refreshing to read a book about Afghanistan that doesn’t paint its Afghan characters as people in need of ‘enlightenment’. I guess if you are a Romance reader that enjoys a book about Western women finding true love with war camp followers of the military or learning a life lesson about advancing their own careers and usefulness without a boyfriend's love, depending on the character (except the one Western woman who is strong and principled from the start, no boyfriends, who gets killed off) while experiencing exotic sights and sounds that lightly touch their conscious minds so that sometimes they want to organize a meeting, this will be a five star read for you.
