About this deal

David " John Wick" Leitch's Brad Pitt-starring smash-up of Joe Carnahan's Smokin' Aces, Quentin Tarantino's Kill Bill, Guy Ritchie's anything, and every cheesy style-over-substance witty action romp from the nineties/noughties, is dangerously scattershot and gleefully over-the-top. Detail and definition are impeccably reproduced as images have a luminous and sparkling clarity that is appreciably three dimensional. Bullet Train was released on 4K UHD, Blu-ray and DVD on October 18, 2022, with the digital version released on September 27, 2022.

There is also the team of Lemon and Tangerine (played by Brian Tyree Henry and Aaron Taylor-Johnson) who have racked up a huge body count in their chosen profession, but now find themselves guarding the briefcase and the son ( Logan Lerman) of a crime boss known as the White Death ( Michael Shannon). The Bullet Train was released within a month of The Towering Inferno in Japan but nevertheless proved to be a big hit.

Unlike his friend Tom Cruise, Brad Pitt normally doesn’t take these roles and he is not nearly as daring in the stunt work.

Dynamics are excellent, surround usage impressive both at a small and big-scale, with LFE rippling throughout and a suitably punchy, funky score. Five assassins aboard a swiftly-moving bullet train in Japan find out that their missions have something or, someone, in common. The Bullet Train also benefits from a starry cast, with some big names both in major roles and cameo appearances. I would say that perhaps some of the many character strands could have been trimmed back though to make for an even leaner experience (making an argument for the shorter, international cut, though that loses aspects I did like – see below). Most of the activity appeared to be confined to the bed layer and i felt the heights channels were sparsely used, except for a couple of scenes. channel DTS-HD Master Audio (as well as the multi-channel Dolby TrueHD Atmos core on UHD) presentation didn’t disappoint.

presentation, but it is a more refined and spatially capable listen that is the clear superior of the two. Tony Rayns provides a fairly thorough look at the cast, crew and cinematic and political scenes of Japan at the time.

The audio is offered in English Dolby Atmos with optional subtitles in English SDH, French, and Spanish. From the director of Deadpool 2, David Leitch, the end of the line is only the beginning in a wild, non-stop thrill ride through modern-day Japan. The scenes shot at night, or in the low light of dawn or dusk, are equally rewarding, delivering a noticeably dimensional image, with excellent delineation.
