About this deal

The stove features a steel mesh on the bottom which keeps the fuel off the base and improves airflow. It has a double wall with strategically placed holes on the inside and outside walls. These features allow optimal air flow around the fire to burn the wood as efficiently as possible. This is just one of the coolest things ever! I love that it’s truly portable and that there is no smoke! The smoke always really bothers my eyes and this would be so great to finally enjoy a bonfire again! Reply The answers to these, and all of your other burning questions, lie ahead in my in-depth Solo Stove review. Thanks to air pathways, when your fire is up to temp, the Campfire will start burning the smoke from the fire, leaving you a smokeless fire that's burning incredibly hot. While the Campfire's small size isn't the most appealing option for entertaining friends, the heat put out is nice for a circle of four to enjoy. I think that this Solo firepit would be especially nice when you are camping at one location for a number of days. Perfect for that marshmellow time. And wanting some fire to sit around. Like that it has a spark arrester that would fit over the top. Peace of mind. Reply

When the solid fuel is combusted, it gives off wood gas. (Aka…smoke and other gases. You know, the stuff that makes your eyes water.)Many people also use it when their fire is out, but still warm, so that nothing accidentally falls into the potentially still hot embers. While the Solo Stove company doesn’t sell one, I’ve heard that this lid is a perfect fit for t he bonfire if you remove the top ring. Solo stoves are not only a fire pit, but an awesome addition to your campfire cooking kit. While cooking over an open flame isn’t the best option using a Solo stove, the brand offers plenty of cooking accessories that can do the job.

Yes it really does make a difference in the smoke and heat radiation Peter! And yes, the Bonfire is definitely better for a bigger group – we are able to get 6 comfortably around it! – Stacy ReplyBurn Chamber – This is the main body of the Solo Stove. It is equipped both on the top and bottom with vent holes. The walls of the burn chamber are constructed in a double layer of 304 stainless steel. The burn chamber houses the other parts of the Solo Stove and holds that wood while it is burning. The Campfire doesn’t have as many compatible accessories as the Lite and the Titan (like the alcohol burner or the windscreen). However, you can save some money and get this gear bundle with everything you need for camp cooking. How did the Solo Stove hold up after two years outside? Pretty darn well. I’ve stored my Solo Stove outside using the rain cover. The stove still looks new, but the rain cover doesn’t look great. There are no tears in the rain cover—it’s just dirty. Cooking on the Solo is a lot like coking on any wood-burning fire pit. It takes attention and time, but you’ll get it down. Scott Einsmann What It Does Best

If the outside of your Solo Stove is dirty with mud, dirt, grass, or sand it can be wiped off with a damp rag. I love that you gave both pros and cons about the Solo Stove. I like that you took time to answer every ones questions. I also enjoyed seeing the different items available to buy, as well as a link to the lid you spoke about. Job well done! Reply We fit six chairs around it and weren’t crammed, so I’d say for most families, this firepit is big enough for everyone to enjoy! And it puts out a lot of heat so you don’t have to cram intogether to feel it. We tested out the Solo Stove Bonfire in the wonderful Wyoming wilderness with the family! How do I prevent rain from getting in when I’m using it at camp? This was my first run-in with a Solo Stove Bonfire fire pit, and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

Performance

There are numerous good reasons to spring for a Solo Stove Bonfire fire pit, but the fact remains that it costs hundreds of dollars, even if you get a discount. Yes! If you compare it to the normal wood-burning fire pits or fire rings at a campground (the ones that are like 3 feet high) the warmth is similar if not better. I actually had to give it a little more space than I’m used to because it’s so hot! You can roast, boil, or cook anything that comes to mind. The Solo Stove Campfire allows you to cook food for 4 or even more people and boils 32 fl oz of water in just 2-4 minutes. We started our fire with some pine needles and dry moss, so there was some initial smoke for about 2 minutes, but then it was gone! This made our whole camp experience WAY easier because my kids are young and at the age where they get super affected by smoke. I almost always have at least one kid squinting their eyes as hard as they can and screaming for me because of the smoke, but with our Solo Stove, there’s less smoke so that issue never happened!

Note: While the flames produce significant soot on the pot, the stove itself stays much cleaner, especially on the outside. For clean up, I only rinsed out the small amount of ashes remaining in the stove. Choose the best size portable camp stove Cleanup: When the fire is high, open flame from the fire comes up to the bottom and around the edges of the pot. This creates a big sooty mess on the bottom and sides of the pot which is very difficult to clean. The photo below below is the bottom of my stainless steel pot after using it on the stove. The flames may also melt or burn plastic insulated handles, especially if the pot is the same size as the stove. This is my cooking pot with soot from the fire on the bottom Solo Stove fire pits are wood-burning, so it’s not recommended to put charcoal that burns much hotter than wood and thus can damage your stove. So, is Solo Stove worth your attention and money? Potential rust issues: Some customers have complained about rust issues after having their Campfire for an extended period of time. As long as you store it away properly in its bag when you’re through with cooking, you should be able to avoid this issue. It’s hot outside while burning, and a bit after the fire is out, but if you are in a rush you can take coals out of the stove and bury them in the ground (like if there’s any big pieces left), give it 5 mins, then put water on it so it fully cools down. I hope this helps! -Stacy Reply

There’s not much to prepare for setting up the Solo Stove Campfire. Actually, all you need is only flat terrain, free of any flammable materials. The company’s commitment to innovation and quality has remained unchanged throughout the years. And most importantly, they’re a member of 1% for the Planet, a program where members donate 1% of their revenue to environmental organizations. What is a Solo Stove Campfire? I love that part Paula! I’m tender eyed =P It’s nice that the kids don’t spend the whole time with “hot eyes” too! – Stacy Reply Although Solo Stove makes everything from pizza ovens to grills, their star product is a portable, smokeless fire pit.
