About this deal

Directed by Peter Jackson, The Beatles: Get Back is a three-part documentary series that takes audiences back in time to the band’s intimate recording sessions. Yes there may be lots of sitting around and talking but when Paul starts strumming his bass and George joins in, despite appearing to meander aimlessly, it eventually turns into a nascent ‘Get Back’. There are no fields of depth and the details in close-ups of facial features or textures in clothing are all absent.

Over three episodes, Jackson looks at the making of the album, originally titled 'Get Back', taking unused footage and audio from the 1970 documentary of the same name. dialogue not quite so firmly rooted in the center area, but it is also well capable of carrying the meager sonic needs.

Coming in a slip case, that is a tad difficult to remove, the book style trio of CDs is presented in three parts with obvious breaks (Twickenham, Apple Studios and Rooftop) and shows how much more they were at home at Saville Row than the cold, empty vastness of a film studio. Sadly, the stand alone rooftop concert in theaters this past winter was a different cut but still with man on the street interviews. Since this is permanent on the screen and not true closed-captioning it’s baffling that there’s a difference. Having watched this, you’ll ask yourself whether these sessions really were as bad as we were first led to believe.

Perhaps when the original movie was released the song title was their way of telling us to just let The Beatles go their separate ways…. Perhaps in the future when the Beatles (finally) re-release the original Let it Be movie there may be some additional material but what’s included here is exactly what’s been streaming on Disney. The group jammed for several weeks, coming up with the material for the album and special, but never having a clear vision for what the special would be, as they wanted it to be more than just a “concert film. Readers of this blog may remember that this past April I posted a blog in which I thought for sure the “Get Back” documentary had finally been released at that time – well, the DVD version anyway. and the packaging is attractive but, like so many others built like this, somewhat frustrating and impractical in terms of ease of disc removal. uncompressed PCM audio option on the Blu-ray, which is missing from the DVD set, is a much better listening experience than the sound of the DVD set. Peter Jackson directs this documentary series which depicts the making of The Beatles' 1970 album 'Let It Be'. I’m thrilled that the rooftop concert from The Beatles: Get Back is going to be experienced in IMAX, on that huge screen,” Jackson said in a statement at the time.No matter if someone is a Beatles fan or not, this documentary is a super rare look into the music business on how a record is made and created through the vision of the biggest band in the world. Ele cobre a criação do álbum de 1970 dos Beatles, Let It Be (que tinha o título provisório de Get Back) e se baseia em grande parte de filmagens e material de áudio não utilizados originalmente capturados para o documentário de 1970 do álbum de Michael Lindsay-Hogg. From their small venues in Liverpool to selling out stadiums through the 1960s, this four-man rock n' roll group changed the music landscape forever.

It wasn't exactly a pristine and rose-filled friendship, especially with the addition of Yoko Ono, who appears to be by John's side at all times. Yes, director Peter Jackson has indeed scrubbed nearly all of the film grain from the original 16mm footage, and at times the image does appear somewhat smeared with compromised fine details. I admired the fabulous restoration work, and it was fascinating history of course, but it took me FOREVER to get through all the installments. And for those clamouring for 'Let It Be' to be released, I'm sure those 90 minutes are all included here.Best interview to to see an honest viewpoint of why they broke up was George Harrison on Dick Cavett in the early ‘70’s. While the aftermath of all that is sorted out they move to another studio that’s more intimate and comfortable and invite Billy Preston to join them. In fact, the Atmos track seems to contain no height information whatsoever, the speakers virtually silent throughout.
