Owing to creative squabbles during the making of The Nightmare Before Christmas, Danny Elfman declined to score Ed Wood, and the assignment went to Howard Shore. Filmed in black-and-white, it stars Barret Oliver, Shelley Duvall (with whom he would work again in 1986, directing an episode of her television series Faerie Tale Theatre), and Daniel Stern. Filming for Batman Forever began in late 1994 with new actors: Tommy Lee Jones as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, Nicole Kidman as Dr. Darker and considerably more personal than its predecessor, concerns were raised that the film was too scary for children. The most important reason is that the added color allows students to fill in those big eyes with a white pencil crayon.

A well-regarded supporting cast was headed by Miranda Richardson, Michael Gambon, Richard Griffiths and Ian McDiarmid. Having aired once in 1983 at 10:30 pm on Halloween and promptly shelved, prints of the film are extremely difficult to locate, fueling rumors that the project did not exist. Brainiac, the main villain of the movie, went through a number of passes that more often than not depicted him as a humanoid alien's head on a robotic, spider-like body.

It's certainly a more romantic take on the place where Lois and Clark work than the more gritty Daily Planet audiences were used to, feeling similar to the work of artists like Norman Rockwell. Within a few seemingly simple pen lines, he creates bold silhouettes […] You would be mistaken for thinking that some of Tim’s rough sketches are rudimentary, loose or naïve, for they hold vital information, demonstrate a great delicacy, sensitivity, consistent keen eye, and a stunning vision’.The film received positive reviews for the stop motion animation, musical score, and original storyline.

Tim shows us the wild and wacky but it is totally ok to make stick figures--there are plenty of those in this book as well as his well know characters from many of the movies he has developed.
