About this deal

Exposure on the XT5 felt true to the Sunny 16 rule. If the camera did err, it tended to go a little dark rather than a little too light. That’s what I like to see because shadows are always easier to recover in post than highlights. Updated January 2023 For our lab data comparison we compared the X-T5 to two of its main APS-C mirrorless rivals, the Canon EOS R7 and Sony A6600. But at this price point you don't only have APS-C cameras to choose from - the full-frame Nikon Z 6II costs little more than the X-T5, so we've included it on our comparison. We test resolution using Imatest charts and software, and dynamic range and signal to noise ratio with DxO Analyzer. There are other options out there that many of my friends use, I just don’t have a lot of experience with them. The screen articulation has always been a bone of contention for Fujifilm owners. Some prefer the speed and discretion of a simple vertical tilt, whether they’re shooting stills or filming video behind the camera, while the side angle option does at least allow more comfortable shooting at unusual angles in the portrait orientation.

Thanks to its 40 megapixel sensor, the XT5 also offers a greater number of PDAF points (3.3 million) than the XT4 (2.16 million). Ultimately if you want a new Fujifilm body with a side-hinged screen, go for the X-H series, or perhaps a future X-S model. Sure it’s frustrating if you wanted the vintage controls too, but in terms of offering multiple body approaches I feel Fujifilm offers a lot more options than most. I discovered several attractive leather straps that complement the Fuji X-T5 camera well. Although they come with a higher price tag, they are crafted from genuine leather, making them durable and potentially long-lasting with proper maintenance. The native sensitivity range of the X-T4 is ISO 160 to ISO 12,800, which can be expanded down to ISO 80 and up to ISO 51,200.Here are the best accessories for the Fujifilm X-T5. I also want to say, Fujifilm’s latest official accessories are the best there are from any brand. I have been very impressed with what Fujifilm has been doing lately. Therefore it represents a big step forward in many ways for the XT-series, from the 40 megapixel resolution to unlimited 4K/60p recording with no crop, and from the faster, AI-driven AF system that can recognise a lot more subjects to the improved EVF and IBIS. The sensor covers a wide exposure range, from ISO 64-51200 when you count extended settings, and 125-12800 otherwise. Despite a high pixel count, the BSI CMOS architecture manages good-looking pictures with plenty of detail through ISO 1600 in its Standard/Provia JPG setting. Details suffer just a little bit as you push further up the scale, through ISO 6400, and soften at ISO 12800 and 25600. The output is pretty blurry at ISO 51200. This will undoubtedly frustrate the venn diagram of X-T lovers who want both the grip and the retro aesthetic, although I’m told the takeup on that accessory wasn’t particularly large. I certainly understand Fujifilm wants to differentiate between the models and provide reasons to spend more on an X-H2, but I feel killing the grip accessory for the X-T5 is an unnecessary restriction. The X-T1 was released in 2014, followed by the X-T2 (2016), X-T3 (2018) and X-T4 (2020) (Image credit: Fujifilm X-T5) Fujifilm X-T5 Lab results
