About this deal

Multi frequency– you can search by using every frequency separately, or using all frequencies at the same time Poor signal processing – The different modes in the Apex are simply preset discrimination patterns. Unlike the Minelab Equinox or XP Deus, which change signal processing to suit the mode and help to better focus on different search criteria, the Apex uses the same signal processing for all modes.

Minelab’s “Apt X” system allows you to connect to Minelab Apt X headphones at much increased transfer speeds and a very low latency. (This transfer lag in the signal) If, during the metal detecting process, you rarely receive target signals, you should increase the device sensitivity. Ground balance The main and the most discussed feature of the new Garrett is the multi frequency. The product, basically, offers four separate frequencies – 5, 10, 15, and 20 kHz) which can be used each on it own, plus, two multi frequency modes. One multi frequency mode is for standard conditions, and the other is for saltwater beaches and coasts. This one is the real deal, for sure.Garrett’s ACE APEX is an easy to use metal detector. The APEX is designed more for the beginner but there is something for everyone using this machine. The APEX is also Garrett’s first multi-frequency or Multi-Flex metal detector which is designed to help you find more targets spread across a number frequencies instead of hunting in a single VLF frequency all the time. So, is there a clear winner in the battle between Garrett Ace Apex vs Garrett AT Max? This one is almost too close to call. Both have their pros and cons. Both are fantastic metal detectors. Both offer the latest technologies. So, I am calling this one a tie. The standard headphones provided with the ACE Apex cannot be submerged. However, the cord leading to the headset is submersible. 3. Gold hunting in HIGHLY Mineralized Soil From my perspective this model is literally for everybody interested in the hobby whether you are an experienced, mid-level or even a beginner detectorist!

Secondly, the coil for Apex is not compatible with any of the previous Ace models – because it is created for the multi frequency technology, obviously. For the same reason, the existing coils working for Ace series will not function with Apex. However, the battery life also depends on the search mode being used, the search coil, and the overall settings.

The Garrett Ace Apex manual gives a great drill down into it’s functionality as depicted in the comparison table. You can find the Garrett Ace Apex manual here. Minelab Vanquish 540 Manual The 11″ coil is big enough to even cover plowed fields, but the narrow 6″ footprint will also allow you to easily separate targets in trash and iron-infested areas. This equals the Ace Apex when you compare that the 6 search modes include a zero discrimination mode and a US Coin mode which non US detectorists won’t use. Outside of the clearly superior frequency options, the ACE Apex is wireless-compatible, allows you to control the volume of the iron audio, and has a much more robust interface that better communicates its more advanced settings. Comparing the Garrett ACE Apex with the Garrett AT Max and Garrett AT Pro For beginners, Zero Mode may be a little overwhelming and I would suggest starting out in either the Coins Mode or US Coins Mode. These two search modes will limit (to some degree) the amount of information passing under the coil and at the same time, reduce the extra chatter you might experience in Zero Mode. The performance is still quite good and users will enjoy a quieter experience. Garrett APEX: Coins Mode

Wireless is becoming more and more expected in a metal detectors as the years go by. It is a simple quality-of-life upgrade that both improves comfort and allows detectorists to explore more advanced metal detecting headphones that can feature vibrations and other signals. This is almost a baseline for accessibility in my mind outside of the built-in vibration options you can find in Minelab and Nokta devices. Iron Volume The lower frequencies on the Ace Apex are great for finding large and highly conductive targets like silver. The higher frequencies are great at finding small and low conductive targets like gold or hammered silver coins. I would like to thank Keith at Fort Bedford Metal Detectors for giving me the opportunity to review the ACE APEX. For all of your metal detecting needs and wants please consider Fort Bedford Metal Detectors. They are a great company with great customer service and technical support. Garrett ACE APEX Depth and VDI Test Results What Machines Are Considered The Competition to The APEX? Nokta Makro Simplex Nokta Makro Simplex

Whichever machine you chose, would you always be wondering if you’d missed a target? Would you have found it if your detector operated on a different frequency? https://youtu.be/F4o26fQnE0U Video can’t be loaded because JavaScript is disabled: 2020 Garrett ACE APEX Search Modes Explained (https://youtu.be/F4o26fQnE0U) Garrett APEX: Zero Mode Since Garrett Ace Apex is a direct competitor to Minelab Vanquish 550 and Nokta Makro Simplex, we believe making a comprehensive comparison makes perfect sense. Many Garrett fans were hoping for a new waterproof machine but they didn’t get it. The APEX is waterproof from the coil all the way up to the control interface. The control interface is only water resistant not submersible. I would not suggest standing in a rain storm and expect the Apex to weather the storm. Why Does the ACE APEX Have a Smaller 6″ x 11″ Search Coil?

Garrett ACE Apex vs Minelab Vanquish 550 and Nokta Makro Simplex

The search modes on both machines are about equal. The Vanquish has 4 built in search modes that include Coin, Relic, Jewellery and a Custom mode. It also has a zero discrimination button mode.
