Fines will apply for unreturned items (whole sets or parts of sets) at 50p per title per day (not per copy), the charges start 14 days after the end of loan date. If ILL requests are cancelled after the set has been secured from other Library Authorities, NPALS reserves the right to charge the group the full cost for the set for a 1-month loan.Searches can also be narrowed down by date. Type your required search term into 'AnyText', and also type the exact year, or a range of years, into the 'Date' field. You can even combine this with a 'Document Reference' search to target the search still further.
The award winning Nottingham Performing Arts Library Service (NPALS) lends multiple copies of plays, vocal scores and orchestral sets to organisations across Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire and Derby City as well as directly to groups around the UK. The collection comprises over 24,000 drama copies, 85,000 Vocal scores and 1,300 orchestral sets. Over 600 manuscript, archive and special (printed) collections are described at collection level.Collection level records include advice on other available finding aids, including typescript catalogues. NPALS is primarily available to groups based in Nottingham, Nottinghamshire, Leicester, Leicestershire, Rutland and Derby City.
Easy access to eresources
The service can only be used by groups who have registered directly with NPALS (individuals may be able to access single copies of plays or music scores through their local public library using a library card for their local service. How much does it cost to use NPALS? If you are able to log in to NUsearch (University of Nottingham staff and students and library card holders), you can use NUsearch to make online bookings to view Special Collection items in the Manuscripts and Special Collections Reading Room. Some of themanuscript and archive collections are described more fullyat series and item level, in over 300,000 separate catalogue records. The amount of detail varies between collections.Search options include associated name and place indexing.Collections with extensive indexing include the D H Lawrence manuscript collection, theArchdeaconry of Nottingham archive, and the Portland, Newcastle, Buchanan and Denison family and estate collections. NPALS reserves the right to make changes to these terms and conditions from time to time as it sees fit.
