THE WICKER MAN is also much celebrated for its soundtrack, composed by Paul Giovanni and overseen by Gary Carpenter, featuring haunting reworkings of traditional British folk songs. This home release of the Special Collector’s Edition of the film is a great addition to those who are not only classic movie fans but also those who have been a fan of the movie over the years, I have to say that when I went to see this release at Cineworld I was impressed with the 4K restoration and seeing it on my 4K TV at home it looks even better.

On 13th January 1973, as a thank you to the local people of the small Scottish town where THE WICKER MAN had recently been filmed, a one-night-only showing of the then unreleased film took place in a little cinema in Newton Stewart at 3pm.
