I have to say with this last point that modelling is useful, but you have to adapt it to your own circumstances. Example : you can give some events more, less or a different impact on you by visualizing them and changing some aspects of sight, sound, smell, taste, and touch.I am committed to unconscious competence rather than cognitive understanding --» You do not have to understand everything! Unconscious competence is when you don't have to think about things, they just flow and you just produce the results. Cognitive understanding is when you understand all the details and you understand why things work and so forth This is one of the most controversial books I have ever read. Robbins has for sure a few useful things here that may help you, but they are mixed with tons of pseudo-scientific "psychology" that, in the best case, is useful in the short-term, and in the worst, even harmful. I struggled to understand why I do need most of the methods he talks about. While NLP is something very interesting, it still needs more work to prepare it for something that could be used outside of therapy rooms. Chapter 9: Not a bad chapter, it talks most about body language and its importance to how we feel and what we convey to others. If you have time, it will be good reading it.

This is one of the chapter I would recommend to be a must read in this book.Chapter 4: Not a bad chapter, a little repetitive at first but I liked the exercise analysing your own beliefs later.
