About this deal

Hill score is a little different, calculating how effective you are at running on inclines. Garmin says the Hill score is “calculated by using a combination of fitness and performance data. Higher scores indicate more skillful ascent running. Your score is also classified from recreational to elite, relative to others of the same age and gender, ensuring the progress you see is personally meaningful.” I love it as a feature; it’s eminently usable, and it’s even split into multiple sections – hill endurance, hill strength, and VO2 max – to help you understand how the hill score is calculated. OnePlus has been doing a lot of cool stuff lately. Thee company released its first tablet, the OnePlus Pad, earlier this year, and it just launched its first folding phone, the OnePlus Open.

With the Epix Pro not really trying to be a smartwatch filled with apps and widgets, we won't grade it too harshly in this regard. Basically, it just does enough to get by. OLATHE, Kan./May 31, 2023/PR Newswire – Garmin (NYSE: GRMN) today announced epix ™ Pro Series, its next-gen high-performance GPS smartwatches with a crystal-clear AMOLED display, rugged design and impressive battery life. Touting up to 31 days of battery life 1, epix Pro Series is loaded with all-day health monitoring and fitness metrics to help users stay active. Plus, with three sizes to choose from – 42mm, 47mm and 51mm – and a built-in LED flashlight on each one, it’s the perfect addition to any adventure. Again, our issue isn't as much with the score's accuracy as it is with how useful it can be when you don't clearly know how to improve it. Our score hasn't moved even with a lot more hills and mileage increases over the past six weeks, for example. The clue is in the name of this one. If you want the time front and center, that's what this watch face will do. Jogging Master is an official watch face made by Garmin that offers a nice-looking analog option where you can still show off your stats.

There is a sad truth every outdoors person must face, which is that eventually, you have to move on from your #vanlife and get a real job. Even sponsored athletes get creaky or tear a rotator cuff eventually. You have to pay for your kids’ ski lessons somehow. However, at the moment, we're just not really sure how to use it as a tool in the same way as we do with features like Training Load Focus or Training Effect. Big and beefy but everything makes sense and is eminently usable, from the watch’s taxonomy to the new flashlight. Next, there’s the AMOLED touchscreen on the Epix series. The touchscreen comes in three sizes, with the Epix Pro using the same display as the previous Epix: Epix Pro has physical hardware for ECG, but is not yet enabled/certified for it (meaning, no ECG today, and no promise of it either)

Performs as expected, with good battery life, phenomenal metrics and excellent visibility on the full-color screen. This one is only fitting to wear in December (unless you're a total Christmas fanatic), but it's also the best watch face you want if you want to make your wrist feel more festive.Garmin still opts against adding solar charging powers, which was absent from the original Epix as well, but does now add in an LED flashlight, which does seem a touch brighter than the one that debuted on the Fenix 7X. Existing Garmin owners of any watch bought before 2022 will find many reasons to upgrade. The vast breadth and depth of sporting & adventure features are still there…plus a few new treats and all supported by speedy, smooth, all-new tech inside including the latest ECG-capable heart rate sensor for 2023. When combined with the return of the AMOLED display, an updated heart rate sensor array, and a handful of new software features, the Epix Pro appears to be the most complete and functional of Garmin's premium watches. Both watches have impressive battery life (not as impressive as the Enduro 2, but still) and will last for weeks between charges. Even the smallest models will outlast most multisport watches made only just a few years ago, thanks to the algorithm updates and features such as SatIQ, which automatically switches between different satellite modes to conserve power without sacrificing accuracy.

Garmin could soon challenge the Apple Watch Ultra with the

There are three sub-dials you can customize including the color and we found it's a good way to keep tabs on battery life status and daily step counts. Ranger is a very sleek analog face if you prefer to focus on the time and keep the step counts and heart rate readings well out of sight. Marketing images dug up by WinFuture show off multiple angles of each new Garmin watch, with the company seemingly on the cusp of launching an Epix Pro (Gen 2) in multiple case sizes - 42mm, 47mm, and 51mm. It's available in four cosmic-themed colors that, along with swapping numbers for watch hands, will also elegantly display the date and battery life status. It keeps things simple, but that's quite alright with us. Indeed, both the solar-powered Fenix 7 Pro and the AMOLED Epix Pro have long battery lives (see the chart above). One thing I found interesting is that the longest battery life in smartwatch mode belongs to the Epix Pro – 51 mm, not the Fenix 7X Pro. It's worth mentioning that the largest Epix Pro's 31-day battery life isn't with the screen being always-on.All three sizes of the Fenix 7 Pro now include the LED flashlight, multiband GNSS/GPS and solar charging. You’ll pay more for the Sapphire edition, but won’t get any extra features. The Garmin Fenix 7 Pro and Epix Pro have very similar builds and come in three sizes, which is new for the Epix line. Having three different case sizes (42 mm, 47 mm and 51 mm) allows people to enjoy the best Garmin adventure watch experience regardless of their wrist sizes. There is also a new weather overlay on the maps, which you’ll need your phone for, and a night shift mode (the Apple Watch Ultra has this as well). I do have more connectivity issues with the Epix Pro than with the Apple Watch Ultra, but that’s to be expected when the Epix Pro is much more of a standalone unit and not so intimately tied to the use of your phone. It’s a good watch by any measure, and experienced runners, riders, explorers and triathletes are sure to get their money’s worth. The new Up Ahead feature is a good idea for serious trail runners, and the extremely accurate optical heart rate monitors are a nice plus, but the highlights on the software front are the new Hill and Endurance scores, great new metrics that get you thinking about exercise in new ways. Also included in the leak was what's suspected to be the Garmin Approach S70 - something that another leak suggests could be joined by a couple more Garmin golf announcements for 2023.
