Green Day’s third studio album Dookie was released in February 1994, and has since sold over 15 million copies worldwide, including 10 million in the US (RIAA Diamond certified). In addition to the original album, the super deluxe box set includes a wealth of rare and unreleased material.

The box also includes many fun memorabilia items inspired by the “Dookie” artwork: Doggie Poop Bags, Air-Freshener, Poster, Color-in litho, Button Set, Magnet Sheet, Postcard, Bumper Sticker and Paper Plane. or maybe a more fitting analogy would be a bottle of really strong hair gel because the punk energy on this album is still as spikey as ever! Dookie itself sounds the same as it always has - quite a thin, one dimensional soundstage - but I’m presuming that’s exactly how they wanted it to remain, after painstakingly mixing it in the first place and not remastering for this release.

Yes, it doesn't sound as good as the Chris Bellman Insomniac reissue, but Dookie has never sounded as good as Insomniac in the first place. Dookie was certified Diamond by the Recording Industry Association of America for the shipment of 10 million copies. I'm used to seeing heavier vinyl coming out of Pallas, but my version has the Pallas runouts so it seems it was pressed there. If you’re a fan that just wants to hear the music this is a sound investment you won’t be disappointed.There are some real classics on here such as "Longview" and "Welcome to Paradise" but really there isn't an album filler here. I did not have the debris issues others did, but I always clean my wax before playing it anyway, so it is not a big deal.
