About this deal

The Milliard darkening sleep tent is very similar to the SnoozeShade. The design is pretty much the same. The first night at bedtime she cried when I tried to fully zip it up – so I left it unzipped. The second night I left it 3/4 open and then after a few nights I had her zip it up on her own she started to love it. In our case, we did end up leaving the SlumberPod flap door open because my son usually sleeps with a night light at home and he wasn’t like the complete darkness. I sat inside and it felt scary in complete darkness. However, if your baby likes complete darkness then you might as well close the door entirely. The updated SlumberPodattempted to fix these two issues. First, they added a mesh material to the sides of the pouch to allow for airflow and therefore an accurate temperature reading. However, keep in mind that because of the complete darkness it’s next to impossible for a toddler to figure out how to unzip the tent from the inside. One can say that it’s fantastic, but my own child was fully potty trained at night at 2.5 years and he started going to the bathroom at night quietly. If I put him in SlumberPod and he doesn’t know how to get out of it to go pee he’ll start screaming waking everyone up.

I consider myself a SlumberPod expert because I’ve been using it for well over two years, with two of my kids, on multiple trips, weekend getaways, and naps at grandmas. I’ve set up and taken down the SlumberPod dozens of times and I don’t get tired of it. It weighs less than 2 pounds and folds compactly in the provided carry case. It’s so easy to throw in your diaper bag or carry on luggage no matter where you go. Please note that I crossed out my original tips that are no longer applicable to the new SlumberPod but still left the text for reference in case you are looking at a second-hand SlumberPod. Most parents are concerned whether a sleeping pod is a good idea for babies or not since pods can make the baby sweat. However, SlumberPod comes with specialized breathable pods. The breathable surface of the sleeping pod makes air to circulate within the sleeping pod. Therefore, you will no longer need to worry about the baby’s sleep being disturbed due to warmer surroundings.

While Katy was on maternity leave with twins in the spring of 2016, she and Lou decided it was time to create a safe, easy and portable solution to help make vacations more restful and fun for everyone—and SlumberPod was born!
