About this deal

HyperX style of pudding keycaps. As much as they can be anyways while being low profile caps. Makes lighting modes look far better in my opinion. You can use a bit of that liquid glue used in cellphone repair to attach the screen between the paper and the key cap juuust to make sure it wont go anywhere, but i advise just a tiny lil bit, because it can seep onto they switch and then its just a nightmare to get it out (yes it happened to me) With testing on some of the spare keys, I've figure out that first you wanna remove the + in the middle and at the sides of the posts Would love custom keycaps for my 815 but these kailh ones honestly seem worse, I dislike the texture from OPs pic and if they are also thinner/smaller and stuff, not sure it'll be worth it for me. Shame really, any recommendations on good keyboards like the logitech series that are open to modded keycaps? Or just basically anything thats cherry mx?

I also found these adapters, if anyone is willing to try them out, i wonder if they increase the key too much or cause more wobble. Also, please note that the keycap stems may need to be modified to fit the G915. Logitech slightly modified Kailh's Choc switches to turn them into their "GL" lineup. I also suggest with a nail filer make so the inner part of the posts is flat, it has little bumps, so just smooth those out, like 3 passes of the file can do that That alone significantly narrows your options for compatible keycap sets. The only GL / Choc-compatible keycap sets I'm aware of are:After that's all said and done, i also decided to put a little piece of plastic over the keys, i think scotch tape will do but i used laminated plastic for protecting drawing and whatnot and only on the big keys like space, shift, ctrl, alt, etc So, removing these key caps without breaking them, that was the first challenge, you need to pull it completely leveled if you tilt to any of the sides it might not break, but will add stress to the plastic which will eventually break Next what i did is fix up the mold marks that happen when they do letters like O P D A etc.. for that i used the soldering iron with the bent fine tip again Credit to the redditor np3jk for giving me the idea. https://www.reddit.com/r/MechanicalKeyboards/comments/eh1ie5/g915_with_upgraded_keycaps/

Model: HP Omen 17 17-an110ca CPU: i7-8750H (0.125V core & cache, 50mV SA undervolt) GPU: GTX 1060 6GB Mobile (+80/+450, 1650MHz~1750MHz 0.78V~0.85V) RAM: 8+8GB DDR4-2400 18-17-17-39 2T Storage: HP EX920 1TB PCIe x4 M.2 SSD + Crucial MX500 1TB 2.5" SATA SSD, 128GB Toshiba PCIe x2 M.2 SSD (KBG30ZMV128G) gone cooking externally, 1TB Seagate 7200RPM 2.5" HDD (ST1000LM049-2GH172) left outside Monitor: 1080p 126Hz IPS G-sync Then I tried krazy glue on the tabs completely cut out on the SPACE key but I accidentally got krazy glue on the shift key and removed it with acetone (big mistake as you can see). If the isolated tabs are even a little uneven in height the stabilized key will be squishy. My space key is now totally squishy lol. Anyway I bought new OEM keys knowing my experiment would have a high chance of failing. Decided to give it a try. I tried to fully mod the shift, ctrl and spacebar. My experiment went very wrong lmao. I tried cutting the OEM key and pasting it behind the pbt keycap on the CTRL and as you can see the height is totally strange. I tried doing it to the SHIFT also and if you sand even a little uneven the key will be crooked. We've added a link to the newly-reviewed Corsair K100 AIR in the Dimensions section of this review.

Okay, so after long searching for other key caps, because i never really liked the pudding look, i decided to redo the process, with previous knowledge, maybe make it more consistent or easy..We've converted this review to Test Bench 1.3, which overhauls how key input is evaluated. We've added new tests for Single Key Latency, Multi Key Latency, Data Transmission, and Chord Split. We've also introduced a new Raw Performance usage and adjusted how the Gaming and Office usage scores are calculated. You can see the full changelog here. Just finished mine and I'm really happy with how it turned out so I thought I 'd write up a simple how to and elaborate a bit on np3jk's post. Starting off with the pros and cons of this simple mod for all the TLDR types. This set of key caps, they look good but are twice the price aaannd don't seem like they're double shot

After that you can take a soldering iron with a fine tip, and perhaps bent at 90 degree angle carve out the base a little like thisA few side notes: Perhaps a matte nail polish would be a better candidate for painting, it doesn't shine up much, but does a little, not that distracting tho.
