His false claims made him a worldwide hero, and when the people of Earth wouldn't give Goku their energy for the Spirit Bomb, it took Satan's intervention to convince them. Thankfully when Android 18 faces him off in the Tournament's Finals, she decides to throw the fight to ensure that Hercule keeps his fame on the condition he pays her double the prize money winnings, if anything #18 is just as responsible for saving the Universe from the Majin threat as much as Mr. Satan is, as allowing him to keep said fame allows Goku to defeat Kid Buu for good.
